The so-called "War on Christmas"
Next time I hear someone complain about any War on Christmas, I'm going to put my head through a wall. Is it so hard to understand the concept of being inclusionary?? If acknowledging other religions and cultures at this time of year really so bad? Can Christians really not understand that they have spent so many years cramming the images of their religion down the throats of society that some of those image have become pretty secular, and that they really have no one to blame but themselves?

That's absurd!
We should only use Christian holidays to sell more stuff! It is sacriligous to exploit any religion OTHER than Christianity!
We should not stand for this! Tell your local merchants that you won't shop there if they don't exclusively exploit Christmas in order to make money. We can't let the heathens take over our retail establishments!
Oh, and I don't want your good wishes unless they are CHRISTIAN good wishes! How dare you say Happy Holidays? HOW DARE YOU SAY SOMETHING NICE TO ME LIKE THAT? AAAAAAAAAAARRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH

Indeed, well played, berg.
I was spurned by a FoxNews opinion article (why I read it, I have no idea.... I blame Google News) about how horrifying it was that the social secretary for the White House at one point months ago allegedly suggested that the Obamas might not have a manger put up in the WH this year. This was, of course, construed as evidence that the Obamas are anti-Christmas and out to destroy the world.
Reading it-- and, moreso, the comments on the thing... oy vey-- made my brain bleed.

As I've said before, these Christians must think their religion is fragile indeed if they're worried saying "happy holidays" instead of "merry Christmas" is going to make Christmas go away. They should have more faith.

LOL I KNEW this was gonna have somethin to do wit FoxNews.
I learned that pretty soon the idiots who even believe sh*t they talkin about. Remember the Tea Part stupidity? A bunch of ppl so caught up in idiocy (And dare I say it.. racism) to realize that universal healthcare would BENEFIT them.
I couldn't even get a good alternative perspective on healthcare because of the conservative stupidity being spewed on fox and other conservative media.

I was shopping with my mom at a non-profit, 100% proceeds goes back into the community store. When we left the saleslady said "Happy Holidays" all cheery. My mother replied with a sort of snotty "Merry Christmas" like she was all disgusted at the saleslady. I kept my mouth shut. There is no use arguing with my mother. When CA was voting to pass gay marriage last year she tried to tell me Christians are the ones descriminated against. I am so saddened at how brainwashed my own mother is by the church.

TV is so evil" and i'm lookin at her like she stupid at this point. But I let it go... i'm in place that has Commercials for Jesus.... no really... they have Commercials where some dude gets on TV tellin ppl to read the Bible and accept Christ lol.

Is your mother actually brainwahsed by the church or just upset that so many people are telling her it is "politically uncorrect" to want to say Merry Christmas? I am not a religious person, though I do believe in God and the church. I do respect the fact that someone in retail probably has to say Happy Holidays not knowing the affiliation or not of the person he/she is addressing. On the other hand, I am so disgusted with so many people telling me how wrong it is to say Merry Christmas. Dec. 25 is Christmas, whether you observe it or not. I have always said and always will say Merry Christmas because that is what I do during the holidays. Don't make anymore of it than it is. . . my way of wishing you joy and happiness.
