Default I live in NH

I've met the last five US Presidents.

Not all of them were President at the time...but I have meet them.

Reagan in 1980 he came to my grandparents inn. We had him there for dinner. He was a candidate.

George HW Bush in 1987 as VP. He came to my high school. I sat in the front row with an Ollie North for President shirt on. I met him again in 2005 at the NH Politics and Eggs dinner. He signed a menu for me.

Bill Clinton in 1999. It was his first public appearance after his acquittal from the impeachment charges. He was sitting President.

George W. Bush as Texas governor. I have an awesome picture with him. It hangs over my desk at work. Everyone comments on it....mainly because they hate him.

Barack Obama as Senator. He was, by far, the most intimate meeting. He was virtually a nobody. We had ice cream...he, Michelle, his two daughters, and a few of his nephews. I have a picture of us together.

Didn't about 1/4 of Americans approve of him, by the time he left office? I find that so hard to understand.

I think blinders must come naturally to some.

Very cool. I wasn't real fond of President Bush by the time he left office, I was very unhappy. OTOH, he kept my family safe for 8 years.

Eight years? Really? That must some new math. Do they teach that new math at your charter school?

I don't know how you get eight years, since Bush was only in office for eight years and the 9/11 attacks happened eight months into his administration. That's 7 years 4 months by my count.

I guess you were "safe" if you weren't in NY or DC in 2001. I know I was physically 50 miles from NY and 150 miles from DC on that day, and my husband, who worked 30 blocks from NY's Ground Zero, witnessed the second plane crashing into the WTC on his morning commute...and we didn't feel all that safe that day.

And then there were things like the anthrax letters and the shoe bomber later. I think maybe you could say you were "safe" for seven years. Definitely not eight. Of course...some people don't feel "safe" at all since we're in the middle of two very long, seemingly unendable, wars. I know i don't feel particularly "safe".

Oh yeah? I wonder if ppl who have had family members die in an unjust war feel that their relatives were kept safe for 8 years.
