Las Vegas blackballing Obama?
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us_obama_las_vegas
I realize that places that rely heavily on tourism are often the hardest hit by recessions, but I really think that they are going overboard with this. I mean it's common sense, unless you are a mathematical genius or know one that can guarantee you a win...you really shouldn't take your college tuition money to Vegas.
Sure, he probably would have been better off sticking to just saying gambling, but the two are so synonymous that I'll bet that there would have been the same outrage from the same people.

Well that mayor just guaranteed I'd never visit his city. Honestly.

Overboard it may be but the issue is that this isn't the first time he's singled out vegas.
I'm personal hoping all those that don't like obama or are disillusioned with him such as I am will visit Vegas out of spite...LOL

I think Obama is always trying to maintain that he hates Wall Street bankers and the fact that we had to bail them out after they almost wrecked the economy; and there was something recently about how bankers did a trip to Vegas right after they got bailout money...so, I think that's why he mentions Vegas.
And honestly...Vegas has made a living out of skinning people out of their last buck...and now they're getting principles all of a sudden? Please. Grow a backbone, Vegas.

I doubt that you'll find anybody that changed their plans on going to Vegas because of that line in Obama's speech. The same goes for those people that were planning on buying boats in his preceding sentence.
On the whole, we aren't a nation of savers. We want what we want, when we want it, and we don't care about the arm and leg that we had to trade in for it.

That's just as stupid as the comment made by the mayor.
Wtf @ this whole thing.
ppl are not going to stop going to vegas based on what Obama said.
The mayor saying Obama is not welcome for using Vegas as a common metaphor for overspending and indulging.
Vegas is nicknamed SIN CITY for Godsakes!!! GTFO wit the dumb sh*t!

I'm really amazed that all of you couldn't figure out that LOL means it was a joke
Seriously people! I don't think anyone really makes any of their choices based on what obama or anyone else says and if they do they are pathetic beyond measure. And for the record my disillusionment with obama has nothing to do with his comments on where I live.

If anything, Obama gave the city some free advertising. Las Vegas has tried to play up the "sin city" thing over the past few years.

Nobody should listen to obamas idiotic statements if they want to black ball him more power to them. He shouldn't have open his dayum mouth in the first place.
I recently traveled to Las Vegas on business trip and I had great time and plan on going again.

Really tho. I really don't see how this would effect Obama considering he wasn't even dissing vegas in the first f*ckin place.
I love it there and go at least 2 times a year. I will go and have a great time. Drink to my hearts content, go to the bars and the clubs, vomit on the sidewalk on the way to my hotel room, then pass out in my big fancy bed at the Venetian.
Then wake up the next morning go out to breakfast at one of the casinos at around 3pm. Go back to the hotel and get ready to go out again, hit the bars and clubs, throw up on the sidewalk, pass out in my hotel room then wake up in the hangover and sleep on the ride back home.
And I'm sure no one including, Obama, will give a sh*t.
