iroc, nothing I don't know. I consider myself a bit of an expert on BFing since I've been doing it for nearly 3 years straight now, through a pregnancy, and tandem nursing. Plus I go to LLL meetings and have read a lot about it.

deezee, my suspicion is that it might be a little of all three reasons you posted.

Yeah, sorry for how that came out. I didn't mean it the way it sounded. I meant it more in a "you and me both" [know this info but obviously my sister doesn't] sort of way.

No worries I know when I'm agitated about something and I'm irritably talking it sometimes comes across like I'm mad at the person I'm talking to, when I'm just mad at the situation.

Jumping into this thread a bit late but I agree that babies don't need water. At this age, everything they take in should count. My first son nursed on demand and was a 2 hour feeder for a very long time, very rarely did he go 3 hours.
With my new little on, I nurse on demand and the only "scheduling" I do is to make sure that he doesn't go more than 3 hours between feeds because he was born early and is so small. I don't eat and drink on a fixed 3 hour schedule all day, everyday so I don't expect a growing baby to do that either.
