My OB/GYN doesn't seem that concerned about it. She patted me on the back and said, "sometimes this happens to the ladies, like myself and you, who are not small people to begin with. You'll be fine." But the doctor I saw once while she was gone on an emergency call was freaking out over it and said I should gain less than 20 pounds the entire time. I'm rambling, but it makes me feel better that someone else gained more than what they recommend, without bad side effects. I'm hoping mine slows down in the third trimester as well!

I always ate well and had healthy pregnancies though, no pre-eclampsia, no high BP, no diabetes, just 50 pound gains, which fell off quite easily after delivery.

I didn't know you were pregnant. CONGRATS! You look great!
Congrats, Rhe! I had no idea you were preg - and I will say that if the weight really bothers you, don't look at it. If you are eating healthy, exercising, etc. then you know you are doing everything to gain a healthy amount of weight.

My docs did not tell me at all until after I had my daughter at my request. I ate a lot of salads (with full fat cheeses and dressings) and a lot of smoothies (with sugar). I was able to lose all of it within a year of having her - 70lbs! I am only 5 feet tall!

Yes, I agree that some women gain more. When I hit the third trimester I felt like my body weight was pretty much out of my hands. If anything, I was eating even LESS at that point because I didn't have enough space for more than a few bites.

It all came off within months anyway.

All it was doing was causing stress, and that I do not need.

I've apparently exploded out over the last few weeks...

Deedles, you look great! You don't look big at all to me, not overall, nor for how far along you are.
Deedles, you look great. There is barely a belly there!

Rheanna, you look awesome too!

Here I am at 20 Weeks 3 Days, before my sister's wedding:

Faith, 3Aish redhead
Mama to two wild superheroes and a curly-headed baby boy
Pixie, look how cute you are! I'm about the same size as you, and I hope I look like that when I'm pregnant!

Pixie, that is such a wonderful picture. You look beautiful!!
Thanks guys! I don't know if the picture really represents it, but the dress made me look even bigger than I am. The photographer asked me when I was due and was shocked when I said end of December because he thought I was near the end. And people at the wedding who hadn't seen me in a while kept saying "Wow, I knew you were pregnant, but I didn't expect you to look THIS pregnant yet!" I wasn't offended or anything, it's actually kind of funny to me.

Beautiful bellies, everyone!

I agree that some women just gain more. I was fairly slim to begin with, and I gained 50 pounds with my first. After Dylan, I very quickly lost 35 pounds. I got pregnant again with those 15 pounds left over, and gained 35 pounds with my second pregnancy, so i weighed exactly the same by the end. It's like that weight is my body's happy place while it's making a baby, no matter what weight I start off with. I figure it knows what it's doing.

Here is my newest. Just short of 30 weeks.
