Draconian?

When the government bans advertising of junk food to kids, sets some real nutritional guidelines that are not based on corporate lobbying efforts, and starts farm subsidies for fruit and vegetables instead of corn and soybean oil, then they get to take kids away from their parents for being too fat.

I was given a cookbook on ways to add veggies and cut out bad fats from a lot of my favorite mexican dishes. Made me happy. Also the program was funded by the state.

^^^ That's really cool! I know our state hands out really nice cookbooks with recipes using fresh fruits and veggies. And with WIC they have started including a $10 voucher for fresh produce.

I was at a BBQ yesterday and there was a mother there with an extremely obese 3 year old. He wasn't just a fat toddler. He had a huge belly that hung very far over his swim trunks. I hate to judge but I felt really bad for that child and because of it was not interested in talking to that mother. The mother wasn't overweight at all which surprised me.

I wouldn't suggest taking him away but I wish she was better educated/cared more.

To Trenell, MizKerri and geeky:
I pray none of you ever has to live in a communist state.

Geeky is my hero. She's the true badass. The badass who doesn't even need to be a badass. There aren't enough O's in cool to describe her.
