Trouble with names going with Double Last Name?

Like Tree5Likes

Not pregnant...just obsessed with names...but cant find any names to flow right with a double last name. Its last name would be "Walker Travers. I ALWAYS loved the name harper. Even though its my maiden name... i Iove it. But It doesn't flow with walker travers. Idk what does. My mans name is Michael Lamar Walker Travers. And that sounds fine...but nothing else does. For a girl or boy!

I think Harper Walker-Travers sounds lovely as a name for a boy or girl

If you have a little boy, I think Lamar would look nice as a middle name for him as well!

Harper Lamar Walker-Travers

Thank you! It may just be my brain right now...lol. and I know everyone thinks im crazy for using my original last name as my childs name...but I cant help that I love it. And thats actually nice for a boy. I never even thought of that...lol. I do want to try and think of a girl middle name and another boy middle name for Harper Walker Travers but I love that you opened my eyes some. Thank you!

I also had a weird one in mind...Harper Mckenna...Everybody thinks it suits me as a person to name my child that if its a girl but I keep hesitating...idk...maybe even Mckenna Harper. Its hard now too because I gave a friend a cute one...Harper Jade. She wanted to use the name Harper cause I made it grow on her and I helped her brainstorm and said Harper Jade and she loved it and is now using it. So it makes it hard for me to find something different and settle.

Lol my mom suggested the same thing. I find them refreshing, but my so is not feeling it. He wants something unique and new. Blah. This is a challenge. Thank you though!

Sure. Most people like younger-sounding names. I just thought I'd float some wishful thinking.

I do love Eleanor and Dahlia and names like that too though....maybe I can warm him up to them lol.

It is, isnt it? So classic and so grand...I love it. Thanks for reminding me of those older names too. I tend to forget....a lot lol

I just think that a person with a perfectly elegant name like "Dahlia Walker-Travers" can't help but succeed in life.

I say the same thing! A name really does start everything off. And with a name like that...you have to pursue confidence. Im really working on it. Love vintage classic names.

Oh yes they really are. And honestly, so is Harper. it irritates me since thats my last name and I always wanted to use it but whatever, im really looking into older names. I get tired of hearing the same things. Especially now days....Everybody is adalyn or brailyn or kailyn or kaiden or something to that degree. Its old. And with my so being named michael and me clarissa...im trying to meet in the middle with old and modern.

I find I don't know the gender of many children I've only heard about and never met: Morgan? Hayden? Wren?

However, I do confess to enjoying the name "Bear." It's what Kate Winslet named her son(?). But considering the fact that her husband's name is Ned Rock'n Roll, think how much weirder it could have been.

Also, I read that one of the Fiennes family (a brother of Ralph, I believe) has the middle name "Iscariot." Wth?

I named my youngest Josephine and everyone seems to love it but no one else seems to have that name. I love older names. I wish I had done that with the older kids.
I know....that is how it is. I have no issue with that but it is kind of irritating. I have no room to talk though because I recently fell in love with the name Camden. I like the name cameron but it was so plain so I googled cam and it came up with camden. Which id never heard before but apparently its not that uncommon. And I love Josephine. Thats a very rich name just like dahlia. Beautiful.

There is a Josephine in my daughter's class and they call her Joey. Personally I'd go with Josie as a nickname. I think that's really cute.

I substitute teach in grade K-8 so I see all the latest names. Ellie is back, not sure if that's a nickname for Eleanor or a full name. I've seen a few old school names out there. There is a 4 year old named Gladys and it just cracks me up. I'm waiting for a Lois to turn up.

If you got nothing to bring to the table - don't even bother sitting down.
"Gladys" is still very common in Spanish speaking countries.
Another name I would avoid is "Britney", "Brittany" or similar...so overdone as well!
