It's been a rough few months

Wow I finally have both kids sleeping at the same time. I figured I'd check in and say hello while I can. It's been a rough recovery for me.

I lost alot of blood during the delivery, but they weren't sure where it went. They did a cat scan and it showed I had tons of clots in my uterus, so that's where all the blood went. I had been having cramps for weeks after the baby was born, which I knew wasn't really normal after the first few days, but didn't think much of it. Then one day I had REALLY bad cramps and that night I started having contractions! It was so painful and so weird I had to call my doctor. He told me it was the clots trying to come out and it was like I was in labor - great, just what I need 6 weeks pp. A little while later they all just started pouring out. It went on for a few hours. It was a horrible night.

In addition to the cramps throughout those six weeks I was feeling week and achy, but I just thought it was because of the lost blood. I never saw any improvment, and then one night I woke up feeling miserable with a fever and it turned out I had mastitis. I had a mild pain in my boob, but I just thought that was normal for being new to breastfeeding. It wasn't until the fever that I put it all together.

I'm happy to say that finally after 8 weeks, I'm feeling like my old self. I still don't have much time, but that is to be expected.

Sophia is doing really well with breastfeeding and Lucy has now become obsessed with the fact that my boobs make milk. She'll put the boppy around her, take her doll and lift up her shirt and put the doll there to feed her. It's really cute.

There's no real routine with Sophia, and she doesn't nap well during the day, so I figured I better take this opportunity to check in because who knows when I'll have time to come back.

Hope everyone is doing well.
If you got nothing to bring to the table - don't even bother sitting down.
How scary about the clots! I'm glad to hear everything is well now. Thanks for checking in
