My pedi told me 6 months is typically when they will start to cut teeth. Steven cut his fisrt tooth 1 day before he turned 6 months.

My kids started teething early, at 3 mos. But neither of them cut a tooth until 7 mos.

Bailey got her first tooth at 11 mos - Bella is 7 mos and has no sign of a tooth poking through yet.
My experience has shown me that when it comes to babies, there is no 'typical'.

i don't know if there is a typical where teeth are concerned.
our son was 4 months when he cut his first tooth. our daughter was 5 months.
i've seen infants as old as 10 months with the baldest gums! my nephew is 8 months and has no teeth. my girlfriend's daughter is 10 months and her first tooth is barely completely through.

Max was 9 or 10 months. Maya was around 6 months. I don't think there really is a typical age.

Xander got his first two teeth right before he turned one, the next two sometime around 15 months and all of the rest in about a week span at 20 months. He was the oldest no tooth having toddler at Gymboree.

Kennedy was really young - she had 3 teeth at her 3 month appt.
It really varies. BTW, I heard that it is genetic - if you were an early teether, your child is more likely to teethe early.

Kade got his first at 4 months.
Korbie didn't get his first teeth until 15 months during which time he got 4 all at once. And it was non-stop teething from that day on until he got all his baby teeth. For him they always grew in 4 at a time. By the time he was 2 he had all his baby teeth.

Pat was 3 days shy of turning 4 months.
Ashley was 6 months.
Sean was 8 months.
There really isn't a typical time.
I noticed that for each of my kids the age at which the first tooth came correlated to when they grew in. My oldest lost his first tooth around 4, which is a bit early. My youngest lost his first tooth around 7. My daughter was somewhere in between. I don't remember exactly how old, probably 6, but I remember exactly where we were and what we were doing because my SIL helped her by pulling it out. Gah! so much blood.

I don't think there's a 'typical' for anything where babies are concerned!
Tristan was 11 months old when she cut her first, and Madison was 8 weeks old! By 5 months she had 4 teeth!
It was so odd-Tristan was RUNNING by 11 months-she started walking at 8 1/2-and could talk before she got a tooth!
Elli has been drooling excessively since 2 months, and still no teeth.

#1 cut 1st teeth at 4 months
#2 at 6 months
#3 at 9 months
#4 at 12 months
My kids were all over the place with when first teeth were cut. Funny, the younger kids who cut teeth latest, are still late teethers as school-age kids. #4 is 7.5 years old now, and he JUST lost his first teeth in 2nd grade. That's really late. A lot of kids start losing teeth in Kindergarten.

I was a late teether (around a year) and I didn't lose my first tooth till I was 8. But my mama said we all teethed late (between 9-12 months) but lost first teeth at all different ages - my brother was 5!
