1st ob or midwife appoinment?

For those that are currently or have been pregnant how far long were you when you went to your first appointment?

TIA

I think my first appointment was around 5 weeks. It was with a midwife and it was much easier to get in with them than with an OB.

My first appt was with an OB at 8 weeks.

I had an appt before that at the student health center at my university, which was a pregnancy test and a pelvic exam. (The center had to refer me to an OB.)

I was 6w3d. I have my next two appointments at around 10 and 11 weeks (I have two around the same time because I am looking at different options).

Congratulations, Delma!!!

I had my first visit sometime around 10 weeks.
8 weeks both times because that is the earliest they take new pregnancies.

Just after 5 weeks - my doctor saw me just a few days after I got my positive test.

With #1, I was scheduled for a midwife appointment right around 8 weeks, but ended up in a bit earlier due to some bleeding they wanted to check out. I think 8 weeks is pretty standard, and that's when I had my first OB appointment with #2.
Hair type: Completely confused: mostly 3a, some 3b parts, and even 2 in places; very fine and thin.
Products: Elucence clarifying & MBC; CK, F/X Curl Booster Fixative Gel (when I can find it)
8 weeks, which is the earliest they would see me.

Congrats!

Delma, they told me 8-12 weeks, and I heard the heartbeat at 9.5 weeks for the first time, so like I was telling you, you should see if you can get in to hear yours - it makes it seem more real and gives you peace of mind!

How are you feeling?

I had a pre-appointment with the OBs assistant (don't know if she was a nurse or a secritary, we just did paperwork. I kept telling her that I wasn't giving birth there (in that state or in a hospital) but she just kept doing admitence paperwork ) at 7 weeks. then at 13 weeks we did an ultrasound (only one). At about 5 months I found my midwives and that was that.
Oh yeah, I did have a pre-appointment at 5.5 weeks, which was pretty much a waste of time (my dr. didn't believe I had conceived so quickly and wanted me to take another test, and I did get some blood tests done but they could have waited and she talked to me about what to do if I got sick - I did and it didn't really help!) so next time I will wait until 8-12 weeks.

With each baby, I went for prenatal care later and later. With the first and second, I had my first appt at around 6-8 weeks. By the third, I think it was 12 weeks. My fourth, I didn't find a midwife til I was 24 weeks.
I went at 7 wks. because I was seeing a fertility specialist at the time. Because I was pre-diabetic, they wanted to take special care of my little "bean".

Congratulations, Delma! The hospital where I go confirms the pregnancy with a urine test as soon as you call them. The first real appointment isn't until 10 weeks at the earliest.

So as soon as we get the insurance straightened out I guess I'll just act like I had no idea I was pregnant, I just hope they buy it.
