OMG that picture where you bounced Dylan down to nurse is too funny, he looks SO BIG! I love the color of that blue wrap too. And kudos to your hubby for wrapping... my husband tried a few times when Abram was first born but after one failed attempt when A was a few weeks old and crying hysterically, he gave up. I'm thinking of getting him an Ergo because I honestly don't know how he'll ever watch them both at once without wearing Abram.

I had an Ergo for hubby and he used it some with Dylan. Ethan is a wrap baby through and through though, so the poor Ergo was sitting around "just in case." I finally sold it to a friend to fund some concert tickets. I wanted to keep it in case of emergency, but I wanted Ben Folds tickets more. And DH now says that wraps are cooler anyway.

Even when DH was willing to try wrapping at home, he'd never have been willing to wrap in public. For some reason, he didn't have a problem with a Baby Bjorn until I told him it might not be good for Solomon's "family jewels". Anyway he keeps saying he can take the boys to play or walk laps in the gym at the YMCA while I work out (so I'm right there if Abram needs me) but he seems to think Abram will be fine in a stroller, and I'm pretty sure he's wrong.

So, my husband plays this game with Solomon called "Where'd Solomon go?" or "I don't see me". DH puts Sol up on his shoulders then pretends he can't find him, until Sol finally says something or giggles, and DH says "I heard something! There he is! He was on my head the whole time!" Anyway, I decided to try back-wrapping Solomon the other day while Abram was down for a nap, and now he calls all my wraps "Where'd Solomon go?"

I had Abram napping in a front carry this morning and Solomon grabbed a wrap and wanted to play, so up he went:

For the BW geeks, on the front is Abram in FWCC in a silk indio dyed "storm" and the back is Sol in a sloppy RUB in Aqua Waves.

It's hard to see here, but this is Nathan in the Ergo, on Daddy's back while hiking last week.

I think we need a second Ergo for Harry. He wanted "Uppies" for the last part of the hike and we took turns carrying each one.

Edited to add: I've got a woven wrap, but I have trouble with scoliosis in my shoulders and can't seem to get comfortable once the boys get past a certain size. I love it and want to use it more, but still automatically reach for the Ergo or Babyhawk now that my babies are so huge.

I love the over-the-shoulder back carry pic!

What kind of wrap do you have, and what carries have you tried? I'm new-ish to wrapping and even when I do wrap Sol occasionally he's still only 24-25lb (which feels huge to me, but isn't heavy for his age at all). Anyway for back carries, the most comfortable/supportive that is raved about on TBW (and in my experience too) is the Double Hammock carry. But Kaia should be able to help you more; she has more wrapping experience than I do and her boys are much bigger - I think Ethan outweighs Sol and is a year and a half younger than him!

No you're right F, nothing beats double hammock for support! Very cute tandem wearing pic! Sounds like Solly is talking a lot, huh? Dylan still doesn't talk.

fuzz - I was about to say "Ohh, look at Harry," when I realized that was a different kid. Man, they grow up fast, huh?

Here's a couple of pics of the DH carry. There are vids on youtube for instructions. The look takes some getting used to (looks like a wrap shirt lol), but the support is truly unmatched. E is 28 pounds now BTW.

Kaia, we have the same monkey backpack harness for Harry. He is a runner! What is the name of that carry so I can look it up? I have a good video of a BWCC that I'm using to see if I can get one of them wrapped on my back. I thought that would be an easy place to start.

fuzz, the carry is called Double Hammock and here's a great video to learn it. I actually found BWCC hard as a first carry and don't like it so much anyway - harder to keep the baby nice and high. If you don't want to try double hammock, Kaia made a great reinforced rucksack video which would be my other recommendation.

ETA: Yeah, like Kaia said the look takes some getting used to. I was very reluctant to try the DH carry because of the way it looks, but I started having sore shoulders/back with other back carries when Abram was only 3 months old, so I figured I ought to give it a chance. I can easily wear him for a 2+ hour nap in the DH carry with no pain.

Thanks PH! He so desperately needs a haircut, but screams bloody murder every time we take him for one. My dad says he reminds him of Sunshine from Remember the Titans

Oh, he doesn't need a haircut! My goodness. Little boys look so cute with longish hair like Solly's. My nephews were in buzz cuts so early, I barely knew what their hair looked like. Finally the older one start kicking up a fuss about wanting hair on his noggin so they quit buzzing it off. And guess what. He has wavy hair! Hooray!

I don't have any pics yet, but I just wanted to say that babywearing is magic! I don't know if it would have worked with Danae (she's such a wiggle!), but it's perfect for Davin. He's the ultimate cuddlebug. I love that I can nurse him while doing dishes or eating lunch...LOL

hah, notice the harness is in my hand? Dylan will not tolerate it at all (except when he randimly asks us to put it on at home), but thankfully he's been much better about holding hands when out.

It warms my heart to read that! It really IS magic!

And since I know you all are dying for more pics of my monkeys.

Hmmm... how shall I take over the world today?

More double wrapping. It's crazy... Dylan would not willingly let me wrap him before E was born, and now he asks several times a day. The power of jealousy, I guess.

Thanks Pixie! She LOVES being on my back, and now that Steven is older and can play while DH and I are getting outside work done (notice the car torn apart!) it makes life sooo much easier!

I am itching to make a shorter wrap now that I am nore confident. I have been trying the wrap of the week over at TBW but since mine is so long, it can make some difficult to do.
