Ugh, pregnancy acne

I am breaking out like I'm 15 again. The nurse practitioner I saw today said that once I'm out of the first trimester, I can spot treat with benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid.

Does anyone have any tips on dealing with pregnancy acne? Or do I just have to wait it out? I certainly would rather have bad skin that put my baby at risk, of course.

My skin was great during the first trimester, but lately it's been feeling a lot oilier.

Sometimes I use hydrogen peroxide on a zit that has popped (or that I've popped ). Supposedly it helps clear up the bacteria in the area.

BP and SA are fine during pregnancy. I've never heard anyone say not to use it, even during the first trimester.

Although it bleached some of my sheets.

Brown Eyed Girl, maybe that is why pregnant women glow? Oily skin?

My aunt would say that it means you are having a girl!

I don't think I used anything during my first trimester but my skin miraculously cleared up right about week 12. I hope yours clears up soon!

I broke out horribly with my last two pregnancies, and used Finacea to help keep the acne at bay. I think it started clearing up a few weeks into my second trimester (by about 4mos)

I used something called Finacea during my first trimester when my skin got wonky. You can get it from a dermatologist and it's safe for pregnancy. My skin miraculously cleared up as soon as I hit the second trimester and it's been acne free since then (woo!).
