Shamless baby photos

As I'm sure some of you know, I use social media and blogging for work. Here's a blog post that shows off my kiddos at the same age in the same outfits (and hopefully educates people too).

omg they are soooo cute!

Your boys are beautiful. I really enjoyed the article as well. I made the same choice with my third baby and while I have gotten past the guilt, I'm not convinced it was really best for either of us. He's weaned himself completely; both of my older children were still nursing at this age. It is interesting that while my skills, education, and career path haven't changed,my salary ( and socioeconomic status as it were) has decreased significantly at this job and this is also the job which made it the hardest to pump (with #1 I had my own office and with #2, I was self employed and could go home to pump or nurse as needed and that is how I scheduled my days).
I had to pump with Alexander because he didn't like any of the formula. It was really tough and I hated it. I was very happy when he started on solids and weaned at 1 yrs old. Theo thankfully takes to formula much better, although he night feeds much more often. I have a feeling he's going to want to breastfeed past 1yr. I don't plan on weaning him, so as long as he's off the boob by 5, I'll let him go at it.

They are adorable, webbie! Such happy guys! I'm jealous that your little guy is 7 months old. My favorite age was the 6-9 month window. Still a baby who wants to be snuggled but old enough to interact and be fun. *sigh*

Great article too.

They're such happy, smiley boys, and so cute, and they look so much alike. You look really pretty in your pic too - great hair.

I liked the article, too. I feel so fortunate to live in Canada when I read about US maternity leaves. I don't know how your government can justify that - but I'm glad to see some progress is being made.

Your boys are absolutely adorable, Webbie!!

Thank you for sharing your article, I found it to be quite interesting and will be faced with that 'dilemma' (its much larger than just a dilemma, but thats the only word that came to mind right now) when this baby comes in February. I didn't breastfeed very long with my first due to a whole host of reasons (one of which is that I had to return to work 6 weeks after my daughter was born because of finances).

I will most likely be in the same boat with this pregnancy...not able to take the allowed 12 weeks of FMLA simply because I cannot afford to. I already tear up thinking about it. Even if I wanted to exclusively breastfeed, it just won't be possible.

I'm still shopping around an idea to connect the problem of teenage pregnancy/abortion/adoption issues to hunger, but I'm not sure if it would be too controversial for us to touch.

I tried to time my maternity leave to be one week before my 40 weeks so I can have as much time as possible with Theo, but since he decided to come 2 weeks later, I lost almost a whole month with him. It was definitely stressful each day I went past 40 weeks.

Cute boys!

Good article, Webbie! I can definitely empathize with the guilt. I am only now beginning to get over the guilt of Dylan weaning when I lost my milk due to a combination of pregnancy and illness/hospitalization. And that's only because he un-weaned when the baby came and I got milk back. I know my guilt doesn't serve anyone any good, but damn is it hard to let go of it!
