I tried this PT this past weekend and love it! I made it using Coconut milk instead of water and for the oil, I used Argan oil. I have to work at maintaining a good protein & moisture balance. This seems to have made maintaining that balance effortless. I have a few PT's that I really like and now this will definitely be in my rotation of weekly PT's. Thanks IAgirl!

Good for you! High five! Glad you like it (and it's so darn cheap) and BTW, you're giving me serious curl envy and I try so hard not to go there.

Did I do something wrong?
I have tried this PT recipe, but I am afraid I did something wrong. I bought a package with gelatine "leaves" (don't know the correct english word for it) and dissolved one leave in the cup of boiled water.
Did I use enough gelatine??
Because my hair is after washing (with sulfates to remove build-up) and PT soft, but barely wavy at all. Nothing like the curly waves I have lately.
Could it be the amount of gelatine or maybe because of a new conditioner I used, with a lot of humectants like glycerine, vit. B etc.
My styling procedure was as I tested to be the best combo, with curlcream followed with curl mousse, plopping and a bit of volume mousse. Did that many times with great results. Now my hair is soft but almost flat!!

Tried it this morning, and my hair is LOVING it! So glad to see a more inexpensive option for getting my hair pumped with protein. I may actually achieve my hair goals after all!

I recently had a coloring mishap and it left my hair stringy and almost straight looking. I tried the PT treatment last might and i didn't notice much of a difference. I co-washed today and did my whole routine (I can't get second day hair to save my life) and my hair looks GREAT!!! i have better curls than before, still frizzy though, but it has been raining and its hot so I am sure the dew point is way up. The only other time I had good hair was right after an avacado mask I made but it only lasted that day. I am hoping this lasts longer and since its cheaper I think I'll do it once a wk right before my wkly DT.
THANK YOU SO MUCH. I really thought I would need 2 months to recover from this, but it seems it might not be that long after all!

Now when I say great, its relative. I mean great for me. I've only been CG for 2 months, but the last time I saw curls I was a sophomore in high school and now I have some curls again!

I got my hair analysis results and they suggested more protein so before investing in a product I may hate I tried this.
My hair IS curlier, not hard at all. Thanks IAgirl!

Thanks, IAgirl - and a question...
I've been CG for about 2 months. I wasn't sure if it was just because I have crappy water, or if I needed protein or moisture -- I had very limp curls, so I did a moisture treatment -- no good. They became overly soft on top of the limp, and "melted" by mid-afternoon.
So, this morning I made up the gelatin treatment (adding in honey, and using a nice champagne pomegranate vinegar - it smelled awesome) . I didn't have a ton of time, and as I still wasn't sure it was exactly what I needed, I left it on for 5 minutes in the shower, then rinsed, conditioned and styled.
I noticed a difference when I was rinsing -- my hair immediately felt thicker. After conditioning and rinsing that out, I also noticed I had a hell of a lot less hair in the shower -- I had been losing it by the handful (it seemed) - I put it down to menopause, crappy weather, sun spots, possible thyroid issues, whatever. Anyway, there were only a few strands hanging out rather than the ping-pong ball's worth of hair -- bonus deal!
While styling, I noticed more body, curl and clumping... only a bit, but definitely noticeable. I let it air dry.
Fast forward almost 9 hours later: I still have body, movement and CURLS -- no melting! Whooo-hoo! I'm just imagining what might have been had I the time to leave it on longer... and will find out this weekend, perhaps.
So, here's my question -- as it seems as though protein was what my hair was looking for -- how often does one apply a protein treatment, on average??
Does one apply a PT once per week? ever two weeks? onces per month?
Thanks in advance!! I've learned SO much from these boards!!

You need to do another PT when you notice the positive effects of the PT wearing off.
Once a week is common for fine hair.

Snickdog, you crack me up! I'm happy for you. I agree with Pedaheh (above).
And if you should start using products with significant amounts of protein in them, you may find yourself needing a PT less often. Your hair will show you what it needs.

Thanks, pedahed and IAgirl!
How very zen: "Your hair will show you what it needs."
I've put off the longer treatment for a bit, but I've got awesome second-day hair... (now if I could just figure out how to manipulate my hands with the camera correctly to get a photo...)
Interestingly enough, it also seemed to make my gray hairs stand out big time -- it's like they're fluorescent!

I mixed this up and put it on my hair, I only left it on for 5 mins and did not apply heat, rinsed it really well and then applied some garnier triple nutrition conditioner, left that on for 3 mins, rinsed well and at the moment its air drying, it feels fine, I am hoping that it will really boost my hair!
