Looking for a Protein DC
It was suggested from a NC.com member I should try protein deep conditioner for my 3B heat damaged hair.
Anyone have favorites that are CG?

see a couple of threads above this one about the Neutral Protein filler from Sally's. I think it consistently gets rave reviews.

A lot of people like Spiral Solutions' Repairing Protein Conditioner. Check for reviews of it in the Reviews thread. Also, I've seen Curl Junkie's deeper conditioning products mentioned a lot, so you could look for reviews of those too.

I like Curl Junkie's treatments...less work than something like Aphogee or Nexxus.

Personally, I think the best protein treatment is IAgirls. I get consistently great results from it and it's cheap. I keep it in the fridge in a flip top tube I got from walmart. One batch fits in the tube and I warm it up in the microwave before I use it. And I literally use it almost every day!
I have very soft water and I've found if I don't use serious protein every day my hair is a droopy mess. So I'm kinda late in my gratitude but Thank you so much IAgirl my hair and I love you!

I bought a few sample packs of protein DT's from Sally's a while back but I haven't used them yet and I don't have the items handy.
One that I do love from Sally's is the GVP Joico K-Pak Reconstructor. My hair liked the Joico, but not the price. The GVP is good stuff, and inexpensive with the Sally club card.

Aubrey Organics GPB.. its not a super heavy duty protein treatment but it works GREAT as a deep conditioner on its own (no moisturizing treatment needed after)

I forgot about AO GPB. I love the Lavender Ylang Ylang version sold at Whole Foods. I can't deal with the scent of the regular formula. Smells like athlete's foot powder to me.

I love the CJ PT's, too. I know Joico K-Pak has mineral oil, Nexxus Emergencee does not. Don't know about the Aphogee.
I haven't used the Neutral Protein Filler from Sally's in two + years. I guess I'll be the first to give the Neutral Protein Filler from Sally's a "bad" review. It wasn't special enough for me to buy it a second time. I may have to retry it--because it's really cheap. But, I don't remember it doing much of anything.

Aphogee has a 2 minute reconstructor that isn't as intense as the 2 step.. I use a a DC in between hardcore treatments not sure if its CG (=

I'll be doing an Aphogee 2 step very soon. Does anyone have any tips on what to do with long hair under the hard hat dryer?
Do you pile your hair on top of your head and let it dry helmet style? or should you just let it hang down your back and let it dry as best as possible? My hard had doesn't dry the last 6-8 inches of my hair....

I can do the Sally's knock-off Kpac twice a week. My hair loves it & I don't need to follow up with a DT. Mineral oil doesn't bother my hair as it does for many curlies though.
I also have a huge pump bottle of the Ion Reconstructor from Sally's. If I don't do a full blown PT with it, I always mix it with my regular conditioner. My hair loves this as well.
I just received CJ Repair Me & Curl Fix, so I'm looking forward to trying them. I will keep you posted with results.
I finally found a LI my hair can use-Giovanni DLI is giving me awesome clumps (I believe this has lots of protein). I've been using it under HESMU & shelved the CCCClite for a little (started giving me frizz).

When doing a hair treatment (PT or DT), I pile my hair on top of my head, put a plastic processing cap over it (a shower cap or plastic bag work fine as alternatives), and get under the dryer for 20-30 minutes on medium.

I really like the Colorful Neutral Protein Filler - works as well as SS for me. And though I've never tried this - I've read many posts about being able to add this to any DT to give it extra protein punch.
I just purchased this and haven't tried it yet but it had great reviews on drugstore.com and amazon - DermOrganic Intensive Masque. I like the option to use it as a regular RO. I know I can do that with Colorful but this is quicker than mixing... but it is a bit pricey (same range as SS, Jessicurl).
