All time fave protein treatments? And best DT to use after?

Preferably no smelly ones, I've tried aphogee but just couldn't handle it :(

My current favorite is Ion Reconstructor from Sally's. It does have a light/moderate fragrance but I don't find it to be too strong or unpleasant. It's not a super heavy-duty PT, but I really like it and it is CG for those following that method. :)

Thank you! I don't mind fragrance just as long as it doesn't smell like something that requires bleach to be cleaned up *looking at you aphogee* I'll definitely try that.

Ion Effective Care
GVP KPak

Or my fave
take the colorful neutral protein filler and follow the directions for a protein treatment

If your looking for something inexpensive and easy to get a hold of I personally prefer egg yolks, kraft mayo and good old evoo that I mix up in my kitchen. Nothing I have purchased from the store has compared to the results I have gotten to my kitchen concoction and my hair has never been healthier, stronger nor have I seen this little breakage or shed hairs (knock on wood).

For my deep treatment after I use Suave Almond & Shea Butter condish w/coconut oil added, cover w/a processing cap and sit under the hooded dryer for 35 mins and I'm good to go!

I love cheap and easily accessible. I don't like a lot of drama w/my hair especially when it's not necessary!

favorite PT-IAgirl's gelatin PT
I don't really DT. I just use my rinse out. If I want some extra moisture, I mix in honey and maybe a few oils.

Does whey protein powder work?
Like the one you add to smoothies, before work outs, and muscles added to conditioner or oil. I have MRM whey protein powder and I was wondering if I use it on my hair to give it some muscles.

The best protein dc I have ever used is the one in my siggy. Nothing I have used has compared to it! I am currently using organic coconut milk but its not CG. Will have to give Iron Reconstructor a try :-)

I definitely second IA Girl's gelatin PT. cheap, easy to make, and easily customized to be weaker or stronger, as needed.

Has anyone tried the Mane & Tail leave in conditioner from Sally's? My hair is in rehab. i have thinning hair and I have been using Ouidad products but I do not like them. I need some protien enriched products, anyone recommend any?

SheScentIt Okra, Cure Care from Sally's

I don't usually do a DT after, it negates the protein, I use the SSI okra as a LI

I really like Curl Junkie Repair Me! It's both a PT and DT in one bottle. Works really well on my dry 3b curls.

No, unless you have purchased a pricey hydrolysed protein. Molecules in regular whey are too large to penetrate.

I strongly enjoy the IAGirl's PT:
Pedaheh's Hair Blog: Science-y Hair Blog Recipes

For my DT I like using my TN with CO (in sig).

I recently found this product at Sally's called 100% all natural protein. It's in a white bottle. I was using Aphogee, but this was a lot cheaper. It smells worse than Aphogee, though. I mix it in some protein powder to make a paste and apply it to my hair. Then I dry it until it's hard and then rinse out. I follow up with Shea Moisture conditioning masque that I also dry in. My hair has never been better! I was losing so much hair each time I comes and after one treatment, that stopped.

Me, too. I've only had a sample of CJRM, but had enough for about four uses. Each time, I really liked what it did to my hair. So much so, that I am now comparing every other product to it and I can't get the same results.
