Hello all,

I'm a long-time lurker and finally a poster!

My hair is fine and porous, and loves all the protein I've given it thus far - I plan to use IAgirl's recipe this weekend but also need to color my hair - which should I do first?

do the PT first- and then wait about a week after you color before you do another. There's a theory that doing one too soon after you color will cause the protein to replace the color molecules in your hair causing it to fade

I agree with aimless6poet. That is my understanding also - that using protein too soon after you color will fade the color.

It's good to use it in advance.

How soon after doing the PT can you color? A day, a few days, a week? Thanks!

when I use neutral protein filler, you're supposed to apply the color right after drying it in your hair (per the instructions on the bottle). I assume you can follow any pt with color immediately.

If you're bleaching your hair, does it matter if you use it too soon after? Since fading is the only concern?
