Peanut-Butter PT recipe?

Already posted in another forum, but thought I'd give this one a try too.

I'm in need of a good PT.

I was actually thinking of food that are high protein that might be hair friendly. I was considering doing a honey and banana recipe with some oil too, but then I thought of using actual peanut-butter. I know it's HIGH in protein, and I'm thinking it would be a bugger to get washed out, but would it be worth the try? Has anyone doen this before?

I was thinking of going through with it this evening, possibly mixing in some honey, and olive oil too to give it more liquid like texture.

Thoughts? Warnings? Do I sound crazy?

I feel like peanut butter would be a sticky mesa, and a little smelly lol! Why don't you try IAgirl's PT? It uses gelatin, which is high in protein. Search "PT Recipe" and look for a thread called "PT Recipe as promised" or something along those lines.

Two, smelly? Oh, girl, I LOVE the smell of peanut butter! I know it's not for most but my husband and I are peanut butter-holics. Which probably explains why we have a surplus of it around the house.

I can totally understand the messy though. That's half the reason why I asked. However, I'd be willing to try if someone else has and it works. We're such homebodies that I'd be willing to spend an evening trying to get it out if it produces results. This is also half the reason I'm tempted to try over the weekend and not during the work week when I have to go to work the next day.

I have been pouring over the recipe section on the forums and I think I might try one of those first if I don't get much of a result.

IF I try... which is still a big IF, I'm thinking of mixing only a little pb in with the recipe to thin it out. Not a whole glob. Otherwise I agree with you wholeheartedly; that would be a sticky mess.

Do you possibly have any home recipes that might work? Again, I'm so cheap right now I don't want to have to go out to get a whole product at the moment.

Naptural85 on youtube has a great, simple protein DT!
DIY Homemade Greek Yogurt Deep Conditioner | Natural Shine Enhancing, Moisturizing, Detangling Cream - YouTube
It's just 2-3 tbs of greek yogurt (organic), a few drops of an essential oil to mask the smell, and 2 tbs of ACV for shine.

If you want a SUPER protein-rich DT, try this:
2-3 tbs of yogurt (preferably organic, but it doesn't have to be greek)
3 tbs of peanut butter
1-2 eggs
1/2 an avocado, peeled and pitted OR 1 whole banana
2 tsp of honey
1-2 tsp of an oil of your choice

Combine this all in a blender. If you think it's too thick, add some ACV. The yogurt, peanut butter, eggs and avocado are all loaded with protein. The honey and oil will add moisture and shine.

Let us know if either one works!

P.S. If you get together enough money and decide to buy a product (^.^), try any Nature's Gate conditioner (for you, i would recommend the hemp or biotin; if you want a bit more moisture, try the aloe). You can find them at Whole Foods and Publix for less than $8 for 18 oz.

Well, I tried a PB recipe, and it worked awesome!!!! I actually did a strand test to see if it was worth the trouble. Also, I wanted to see how my hair held up for a few days before getting back to all of you.

I'll post the whole recipe when I get home and check my journal. I don't want to get the wrong measurements and screw anybody up!

Oatmeal huh? That sounds really interesting. I might have to try that sometime too!
