My hair has gone crazy! Yes, the weather has been super humid here in the south for the past month or so but I've experienced that before. I've been reading and reading on here but I'm getting super confused.
A quick run down...
Color - I've been coloring my hair for the past ten years due to graying. I'm thinking I'm 60-70% gray, not really sure. I used to have my hair stylist do it but because of budget cuts I've been doing it at home with drugstore semi-permanent color for the past 3 years.
Haircuts & products - I have had 4 Ouidad hair cuts since 2005 and used her products until last fall when my hair started feeling very straw like. My Ouidad stylist said at the time my hair was needing moisture and I had been lax on doing deep treatments, so I did one at home.....it still felt straw like.
Just a quick note, in between that time of getting Ouidad cuts and using her products I moved and could only find a Deva stylist nearby so I did get 2 Devacuts and tried that product line but wasn't thrilled with the cut or products which made my hair feel sticky. So I had moved again and went back to Ouidad products and another haircut. But, after the straw like consistency of my 3a-3b fine, thick hair I researched and discovered Jessicurl. I have used those products for the past 6 months and actually squeezed in another Devacut to see if I preferred that method again. That stylist said I had very fine hair and had a halo of frizz or little broken hairs all over my head. I tend to use a ponytail alot. Also, she wasn't thrilled with my home coloring treatments either but that's another issue. I did like the Devacut she gave me, I think the stylist has alot to do with haircuts anyway. But, I can't afford to go back right now for her to analyze my hair issue.
Since using Jessicurl, my hair gets too soft, I used to get beautiful curl definition, but lately I don't, my hair seems to be straight in spots. Also, my hair is super soft in some spots and frizzy and knotting in other spots, I have a halo of frizz going on. I don't know if I'm protein sensitive or need protein. I don't know if I have low or high porosity. My hair strand is very thin and pretty slick with an occasional bump up the shaft when I do that porosity test.
I used to do very well in the past with Ouidad styling products and Kenra shampoo and conditioner and switching back and forth to Ouidad shampoo and conditioner. But, after reading about sulfates and silicones on here and being educated by my first Deva stylist I figured I'd try the "healthier" hair products.
So here I sit with a mess on top of my head
and it will go back up in a ponytail because I look like a wild woman with it loose. Help! Please any advice or a push in another product direction....anything, I'm hating my curls right now!
