looking for a protein treatment...
I am looking for a protein treatment that will help my hair curl more. I dyed it red for a few months and that destroyed my hair. Now its dry damaged and straighter than ever. Even when I use gel or other styling products it doesnt curl like it used to. I think my hair is between a 2b and 2c but I would like to atleast get my curls like a 3a more defined. My hair texture is medium and thick. Any advice???

My favorite is CJ Repair Me. I also like the SS Repair Treatment. I don't have to do a DT after either of them. If your hair is damaged, you probably want to add products with protein to your regime.
You don't mention your porosity. If it's damaged, it's probably porous--so adding moisture on a regular basis is important, too. Depending on how damaged it is, you may be able to restore it. If you treat it with lots of TLC, it should grow in well.

I use IAGirl's gelatin pt, and it's done well for me. Cheap, easy, and customizable. The recipe is now off-site on Pedaheh's blog, and the thread about it on Curltalk is here. After you pt, if your hair feels dry, be sure to moisturize afterward. Not very dry and a protein free rinse out conditioner may work fine, more dry and you may need a deep moisture treatment.

Thanks for the respond. I know I'm SUPER late I just never realized someone had answered lol it didn't show on the website but I finally got the app now. I've been using GVP PT and so far it's worked pretty good and it leaves my hair smooth. I still want to try others just to see what works well. My porosity is med/high. I did a DT and my hair felt dry after is that normal then again that was after I washed with a sulfate shampoo. I'm finally going pure CG. I had cut the sulfate but some products still had silicones. Any advice on how I can improve the elasticity of my hair???

I love both of these, also Ouidad 12 minute deep treatment. I not only color my hair all the time but it's been bleached several times too (color corrections) and these really help.

It's pricey. Like $30. I ordered samples first to make sure I don't waste 30 bucks

That is pricey the GVP is no more than $8 at Sally's. What size is it? The GVP is 6.8 oz.

I had similar hair issues, and ended up trying the Aphogee protein treatment.. My hair feels like a different healthy head of hair after just one use! It can become a lengthy process, because it recommends a balancing moisturizer afterwards, but it was well worth it for me! I definitely recommend it!
