Been using Joico the last few days...
I used the Intense hydrator 2 days ago and the k pak conditioner and joilotion today. I like the results so far. Maybe my hair does like protein? Has anyone else had good experiences with these products? Or joico in general?

I have recently started to really love Joico products! I've used the Reconstructor for a long time and within the last year I added the Intense Hydrator. But I recently discovered the Color Therapy and Moisture Recovery lines and I love them! Probably the Color Therapy better because there are some 'cones' in the MR. But they do great things for my hair. I guess it helps that I eased up on CG when my hair started acting up. I have fine, thin hair that doesn't seem to overdose on protein.

I was literally just contemplating using the intense hydrator tomorrow. The k pak conditioner isn't doing anything for me, so I'm wondering if I can use it as my conditioner or if its too strong for that. I wash my hair everyday so idk :-/ but I'm desperate at this point lol

Anyone use Joico intense hydrator? I use sulfate free shampoo everyday when I wash my hair, so I'm wondering if I can use intense hydrator in small amounts as my conditioner rather than as a DT

Skorpio, I've never used the Joico products you mentioned. I ordered K-Pak Deep Reconstructor Treatment but, only should be arriving next week.

Love Joico products. They've been around since forever and a half and are a favorite among pro stylists. The different conditioners are terrific and the Joico Joigel Firm gel is a staple for me because it works well without drying my hair out. K-pak helped restore curl to my hair after some damage from developer. Not sure it's a good idea to use K-pak as a regular conditioner because there's such a concentrated amount of protein in it. Better to use one of their other conditioners, all of which also contain a fair shot of protein (keratin).

Does the joigel firm gel make ur hair crunchy? I hate when gels leave my hair all hard. Also, the kpak conditioner is advertised as a daily conditioner, and the bottle calls it that as well. But I was disappointed that it didn't do anything for my hair. That's why I'm using the intense hydrator right now. I'm just hoping that it won't damage my hair or do it harm. I'm bad at noticing the difference between my healthy hair and my unhealthy hair sometimes I would try others but I've spent money on all these products already and I hate to see them go to waste... which happens all too often with me :-/

The Joigel Firm doesn't dry crunchy on my hair, not sure about how it'll react to yours. They also have Joigel Medium (hold). They also have a mousse (JoiWhip) that I seem to remember worked great, their lotion too. Now they also have Power Sculpting Gel. I imagine that one might leave crunch, not sure. I'm probably leaving out other products they have.
Okay, my bad. I stand corrected. I totally forgot that there are several Joico products listed under the K-pak heading. It's the two K-pak Reconstructors that you don't want to use too frequently because they contain a mega-dose of keratin that should only be left on hair for up to an hour at a time (though the directions say not to go beyond 5 minutes). So, yes, you can use one of the three other k-pak conditioners (the "Intense Hydrator" - which I haven't used yet, but own, the "Revitalisant", or the "Split End Mender", all of which of course contain keratin, but not as much as the reconstructors). I think the Revitalisant might contain silicones FYI.
If you're interested in other high quality conditioners that contain protein (in this case: silk and wheat), another great investment is the Kenra product line. Their conditioners are very hydrating.

Wow. Thank you so much for all the info. I like the intense hydrator as a conditioner so far. I'll try using it one day a week as a DT as well. I'll just leave it on with a shower cap for 20min or so thanks again

Have you continued using the K Pak Intense Hydrator? I tried it once and loved it! Worried a bit because I noticed it does have amodimethicone. Thinking about using it once a week as a deep treatment. Curious what your experience with it has been!

Ironically I just used it today after not having tried it in a while. I left it in my hair while I took a shower. My hair turned out nice and soft. No adverse reactions

How funny - I just got back from several weeks in the field and picked up K-Pak for my angry hair (sunscreen/sweat/bug spray/Tecnu and then hotel shampoo). I used it yesterday and liked the results. Our hair continues to be in tune, Skorpio!

I have been using Joico intense hydrator as my conditioner and it has been working really well in combination with SM souffle
