When I picked this up from Target last week on a whim I hadn't realized it had cones in it.... in fact it has 3 of them. I just wasn't paying much attention. Anyway, I really wanted to try it, but at that time I was trying to go cone-free for a bit to see if that made improvements on my hair. Long story short, I am still trying to figure out what my hair likes and dislikes and while I am trying to decide on an okra gel order I am basically just doing a LI each day. My biolage one gives me at least a little definition and cuts back on frizz, so even though it has a cone I am just going to keep with it for now until I can get my hands on the products I want to try. I use a coco-betaine poo every wash anyway so I figure it's not too big of a deal to use some cones.

Ok, so with this in mind I decided to try the Protein pack today. It comes in a little pouch, and was like 1.62 or something at Target. I have pretty long hair... about BSL... and I only needed about half the package to be well saturated. The package says to leave it on 10-20 minutes, but I went ahead and planned to double it at 40 minutes right off. Actually there was a bit of a fiasco at my house today and I had to leave it on even longer because my three year old locked my bedroom door from the outside and I had to remove the knob to get in.... kids!

I have only done a couple of PT's so far in my time here and both of them were gelatin ones with slight alterations. I didn't get great results from either and wasn't very sure if they were even good for my fine low porosity hair, but I have recently thought my hair might be over-conditioned so I was determined to keep at it. I had lost a lot of curl and definition.

Unlike the gelatin PT's I immediately felt a difference in my hair during the rinse. It felt so moisturized actually, but strong too. I followed it with my biolage conditioning balm and both a RO (leaving it a few extra minutes) and LI. I didn't use any stylers so as always my curls weren't very defined, and there was frizz, but I could tell my curl pattern was already stronger.

I ended up cutting my hair a bit later on, and decided to just get it wet and let it dry all over again to see how the cut went since I did it wet/straight. I rinsed out with some Suave Naturals Coconut (which isn't something I used before) and put a very small amount in as LI and plopped as usual. I wasn't expecting much, but suddenly I am having so much more curl, bounce and definition than I have had in quite a while, and that's without any stylers again! And it feels very soft, though there is still frizz. I plan on trying it again likely next weekend, but I think I found a PT my hair really likes!

When I bought it that first day I came on here and did a search to see if anyone had tried it, but only saw maybe one post where someone else was asking with no replies, so thought I would share my experience with it for anyone wondering. I would love to hear from anyone else who tried it too!

just washing with a low poo that contains protein (Alba Naturals Coconut) and using Suave Naturals Coconut as both a RO and LI. No stylers right now, but this gives me pretty good curl, definition, low-ish frizz, and it feels and looks good. Also an occasional PT (liking the Palmer's Coconut Oil Formula which has cones) seems to be key for me.
