Default Question about PTs and Keratin

I've been having a frizz issue so I want to try a PT. Before I run out and spend more money on hair products (I swear I'm running out of bathroom space to store all my rejects!), I wanted to ask about a treatment I already have in stock and see what other curlies think.

The Paul Mitchell keratin treatment and daily conditioner are two products I have on hand. My hair responds to the treatment pretty well when I straighten my hair, but I worry that the keratin will straighten my curls out.

I remember trying the treatment in the past when I was trying to determine my protein status, and I had strawlike hair. BUT I didn't deep treat or condition after the PT, so I'm wondering if that's why my hair responded the way it did.

Basically I'm desperate for a way to make my curl less frizzy during the summer humidity and trying to makeover my curly routine.

The best cheap protein treatment I have found is IAgirls gelatin recipe! My hair was not impressed with keratin (I tried the generic k pak) it's worth a shot and you can find gelatin super cheap at the grocery store so you don't have to go buy new products.

What is your question? Nobody can tell you how your hair will respond to the Paul Mitchell, if it reacts badly to that and a deep treatment just rewash. I find conditioners containing penetrating natural oils are best for frizz control and applying far more conditioner than I think I need.

Experimenting with: going back to basics

In my case, and I think, THIIIINK, that most cases, most proteins make my hair even curlier and bouncier, not straighter. Just try it out.

Well, for a while, I was using the GVP Joico K-Pac, but it's second ingredient was MO which was causing frizz. Anyway, that had hydrolyzed keratin. I didn't notice any difference in curls being straighter. I just wanted to make sure because I got scared lol!
