Default Strand that won't curl

During my first pregnancy, my hair became a lot less curly, so not knowing what else to do to it, I've been straightening it pretty consistently for almost the last two years. I started the CG method almost 2 weeks ago and was surprised to find that my hair still has a good bit of curl, but I think I've damaged it so much with heat over the past few years. I have one large strand of hair that is almost completely straight while the rest of my hair still curls pretty well. How can you tell if it's heat damage or if you just have an uneven hair pattern? I know there is no way to completely repair it, but would a protein treatment help? How do I know if there is protein in a product? And how do I know how strong of a protein treatment to use? I think I have medium texture and high porosity because of all of the heat damage. Any help or recommendations you could give me is greatly appreciated! This site has been so helpful!

Proteins will contain words like: hydrolyzed, collagen, keratin, amino acids, and well.. protein. I highly recommend IAgirl's protein treatment, which is unflavored gelatin mixed in some warm/hot water and mixed with a little bit of oil and conditioner if you wish. I also really like CJ Repair Me, that has been my hair's lifesaver after bleach and heat damage. I still have one strand that doesn't curl as much, but the more protein I use on it the better it gets.

I just tried Sally's Neutral Protein Filler today and it really made my hair curlier and less stringy. I mixed in a few drops with my rinse out today and I put some in a spray bottle with water and conditioner to use tomorrow for 2nd day hair.
