ECOSTYLER!
FOTE
AOMM
AOHR
Tresemme Naturals
These are the ones that caused a problem right away. I'm sure there's more, Im trying to figure out the culprits of what is causing my hair to still be acting like there is something with protein I'm using.

I cut out all Deva products,
Devacurl no poo, one condition, and angell.
It was turning my hair to straw.

I had a bad reaction to Giovanni Smooth as Silk conditioner. It made my hair feel straw like as soon as I put it on.

OMG it's like my hair has been saved thank you Jesus for answering my prayers, yes I will admit it I asked for the strength and patience I was going to give up on this hot mess and go back to straightening it because nothing was working. Well at least nothing with protein in it lol!

@Cam.wash
I loved reading your protein sensitivity awakening story. It was how I felt when I unlocked the secret of being protein sensitive and cutting out protein. I felt NORMAL. My hair looked good. I got compliments.
Stay on your protein free hair diet for a while and when you feel ready you can add a little protein here and there. Silk protein is good for me very sparingly once in while, like Suave coconut condish like once every two weeks.
This is a real feel good story for me. Yay for you!

Some of the products mentioned do not contain any proteins
Neither CJ Aloe Fix nor Tresemme Naturals have proteins in them. These products may not work for your hair, but it is not because of proteins as there is none in them.

I can't find the ingredients for AOMM to tell you about protein.

How could I have missed this one!!!
I WISH I COULD KICK MYSELF!!!!!!
It started making my hair act "funny" but I thought it was due to hotter temps so I suspended use until the winter. My hair improved, but since I changed a number of things in my hair routine this summer, I never thought about it.
MANY THANKS FOR THIS THREAD!!!!

Any Quidad product
Any Giovanni product
I avoid anything that says "hydrolized" in the ingredients; I read that meant it was a protein.
WHEAT protein is the worst!

On the Contrary
I know we are talking about products that didn't work for us, but I have to brag on the fact that I found a protein-containing product that has worked for me and I'm in love...it is the Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie that contains silk protein! So, I now know that I can handle it...it actually left my hair VERY moisturized and soft

LA Looks - Not only dries my hair out, but mattes it and causes the worst tangles Im using it up by watering it down in a spray bottle for extra hold, when needed.
Still discovering that Im protein sensitive, I don't own the Deva line but the Low-poo, Arc Angel and something else Deva was used on me once (for free, sample styling) in a salon. Guess that explains why my hair looked like a mess when I left the place...

I'm not sure whether I am protein sensitive or not, but am starting to investigate this, because my hair did NOT care for CJ Repair Me, and I had heard that it would be a rather moisturizing PT.
My hair hates Deva AnGell!!! WIth a passion. Not seeing any major issues with the No Poo or One C yet.

I'm coming to the realization that I too may be protein sensitive. My hair hated Shea Moisture smoothie and deep treatment masque. Started off great, slowly became hard, poofy, dry mess!
I also can't use LALSG too often. I've cut out all protein in last week or so and haven't had any issues.

I'm surprised you haven't had trouble with the one C. All deva product with the exception of HIH, mirror curls, and the frizz free foam have protein. Either wheat, hops, soy or all of the above. I'm finding that I am protein sensitive and my hair hates them even from the beginning. I can't even use LA LOOKS because of the Keratin.
Wheat, soy, silk, Keratin, and hops all leave my hair feeling crunchy and straw like

ORS Replenishing Pak
Hairveda CoCasta oil - is it the Shikakai? I'm not sure how I was meant to use this product...

I am on a discovery mission. I need to know whether my hair is protein sensitive. I know there are some products that really make my hair like out of this planet, well, is the sense of dry, brittle and just shrinking frizzy hair.
I can tell so far these products are not great for my hair:
Suave - probably all of them. I must have used more then half a bottle to detangle my hair and it was still cracking dry.
Ouidad - same squeakiness..
Shea Moisture - deep treatment. Just oily and my hair does not like.
Curly Hair solutions - once the water rinses out it does make it soft, and dries rather quickly ... WHILE IN THE SHOWER!
Thanks ladies - this has been helpful. I will report back with hopefully progress... looking for a progress report but I need to know what product ingredients to watch out for... sigh

Does not seem to like oils
Does not like protein or too much?
Does not like rich products
So, I ask myself. What does it like? That is the question, and I'm on a mission.

Maybe I'm not protein sensitive, then? I don't use the No Poo and One C every time I cleanse; I rotate them so it's every other or every third time. Not sure what the deal is with the CJ Repair Me. It just didn't do anything really, and my hair felt kind of yucky after. Yet my hair liked AO GPB! The anGel gives me wayy poofy, fluffy hair. What do y'all think? Maybe it's just a balancing act of not having too much protein?
