This Week: I'm having a LOVE AFFAIR w/Castor Oil!!
Wow! Just a couple drops mixed in my hand with conditioner and I am loving the results! Hope it last!
I know a lot of people do this with honey, but my coarse hair is loving castor oil!
I have not tried the Jamaican Black, just using the kind from the whole foods store.

Thanks ry, Yeah, it's nice to find something that my coarse hair likes! I was beginning to think NOTHING.
Today, I'm trying to go Gel FREE.. considering it's torrential weather here in FL, and I have not left the house! LOLLL not a good test... But so far so good!

YW!
I've been doing some testing on that end myself. I used to have to use MEGA hard holding gels to get my wurl to stay in place....now, not so much. I got it to hold with just BBFSG the other day, all day long!

I've been using Darcy's coiling gelly recently (has castor oil) and have liked it so far!

Glad it's working for you. I have fine hair and it loves castor oil too. I overlay it over conditioner on my ends. The JBCO is not much different but it does have a smell and it's slightly less tacky.

Thanks SBB... it's really sealing in moisture to my hair and is really helping with the frizz...
My daughter's hair is fine too.. and her hair really liked castor oil last year. Right now we are just using KC on her.... Maybe will try a little castor oil to seal over the KCCC and see what happens....

CurlyQ
CurlyQ when you do your castor oil mixed with conditioner, do you then put gel over it or go no gel. Because I'm trying the no gel, but getting frizz. The sweet almond oil seems to help this.
Also what towel are you using to plop. MF is giving me frizz.

Hey Goin Grey, I mix it with conditioner (Just a little!) Too much and it can get way too greasy! Also, Yes, I use a styling gel as usual... Currently, homemade FSG.
I don't have fancy towels...LOL use an old T shirt!
Castor oil may be too much for you? Any oil will do. Almond oil is working better?

Thanks Curly, I guess I should just stick with the Sweet Almond Oil. Even if I overdo with this my hair can seem greasy.
Let me know how you are doing with the FSG, as I mentioned I'm a big fan. I'm trying to determine if I like the brown or the golden. Lately I'm thinking brown. Crazy huh!

FSG, I loooooooooooove it! still expiramenting tho.. have not got any grapefruit seed extract yet and not really sure about perservatives.. that will come tho! So glad to be able to stop using the gels with alcohol tho... they are so DRYING!

FSG
Curly,
I don't use preservatives in my FSG just because I haven't bought any. I used to use the FOTE A.V.G in it but I found that drying, so I cut out a.v.g. altogether. I just keep the SFG in the fridge now.
Ya, I'm thinking brown...but last year I was so crazy with it that I was doing 1/2 golden 1/2 brown, then 2/3 brown 1/3 golden. Sicko right! Haaa!

I just wanted to add that I double plop, and I first use a long sleeve t-shirt and the second plop I use a flour sack towel I found at Target. 4 pack for <$5!

Hi AR!
Do you find the flour sacks work better? I have never tried them! I just use an old T shirt if I plop, I feel like with plopping there is too much product absorbtion if you do it too long... for me anyway!
