I'm a recent wavy CG convert and I've come to believe I'm protein sensitive... In my pre-CG days, Redken Extreme Shampoo made my hair look blah... and in my first few days of CG, experimentation with Suave Naturals Tropical Coconut conditioner as a co-wash wreaked havoc too (whereas other Suave Naturals conditioners lacking silk amino acids are fine)

Anyways, I'm looking around for a good curl enhancer and came across the Spiral Solutions line... specifically the Curl Enhancing Jelly and/or Firm Hold Styling Gel. However, I see that both contain silk amino acids.

Any protein-sensitive curlies try either of these products and have success? If not, I'd love to know what curl enhancers everyone uses and loves.

I've tried her line and only managed to get the FHG to work once for me. I had such high hopes because my hair responds well to CJ CCCC lite which also has silk amino acids. I ended up selling both the CEJ and FHG (except for a couple samples that I will try again when it's cooler). I do really like her emollience butter for SOTC and just as a body lotion!

I have to mix the FHG into something. I find it 'melts' and gives better hold. I currently mix a small blob into my AOMM, and top with BRHG. This combo is working well in the summer weather - although the FHG didnt have enough hold on its own, I'm thinking about buying a full size (Im using a sample) because it works so well with my AOMM

I am protein sensitive and dont seem to have any issues with silk protein. I love the SS FHG with BRHG over it. If you use enough of it you will get great curl enhancement. I use 3 big quarter size blobs of it. I also dont add my BRHG until I have scrunched out most of the water. After adding the BRHG I scrunch one last time with a flour sack towel.

During the winter months I dont even need the BRHG to get great curls that last all day.
