Default Protein Boost

I have not used protein in about 9 months, but think I need a little protein boost. I know I have read where some protein sensitive curlies do this, but I can't find it. I was wondering if you have done this what do you use? How often, how much etc.
Thanks for your help.

I would just pick up a conditioner that is not protein heavy and rotate it in. Most of my products are protein free (with the exception of my gels) so I don't use my protein at all! I really like SS Caitlin condish though.

I'm in the same boat. I haven't used protein (except a little in my Ouidad CC gel) since my protein overload last fall. But now I'm swimming several times a week and I'm noticing that I'm having a little breakage.

Also, I got a hair cut several weeks ago and my stylist used all of the Ouidad products and since then I think I'm having product build up. I'm getting strange halo frizz and several strands just aren't curling and clumping w/ the rest.

SO I'm going to low-poo a few times to get the build up off and then try using an AO swimmer's condish w/ a little evoo as a protein/moisture treatment. The AO swimmer's condish is heavy in coconut fatty acid cream, aloe, amino acids, and panthenol. Coconut is a mild protein for me and I used this as a detangler b/f my protein overload, so I know my hair likes it. I'll check back in a few days and let you know.

Default Thank you

Thanks to you both for your input. I will try a condish that has some protein and use it once in a while and see what that does. I recently used gel with protein in it because I was told the protein in gel doesn't penetrate the hair shaft. We will see!

^^^ I just work it in whenever I feel like it needs it. For me it's about once or twice a week. HTH
