Protein-free moisturizers???

So, I've been looking for other options or alternatives of protein-free moisturizers, whether store-bought, online, or homemade. I'm still feeling my hair out for what it likes and am always up for trying different things until I really conquer my MYSTERIOUS hair ...

So, what protein-free moisturizers (conditioners, leave-ins, WHATEVER) have you tried that you either like or don't like?

What routine(s) have or have not worked for you?

I just dilute Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose with water for my daily moisturizer. I'm pleased w/ it- not sure if it's a holy grail though.
My signature style: the "braid n' curl"
High porosity, normal elasticity, high density, thick strands, DRY (must moisturize/oil and DT a lot), tangles easily. Highly textured...curl softener+demi-perm color.
Straightened length: Waist (layers)
Textured length: (variable) full SL to BSL

Condish/Shampoo: VO5
Pre-poo: mild protein(VO5)+castor oil+tea tree
Steam treatments: 1-2x weekly
Daily routine and DT: Moisturize w/ Aubrey Honeysuckle Rose+Olive oil and seal w/ Avocado oil
My products are listed in my siggy all are protein free besides, suave coconut cond.

Also check this master list your FYI.

Thx for the help ladies...it's been a while b/c I have been into blogging, CurlyNikki and youtube video making. Anywho, I have fallen in love with Oyin Hairdew. It works WONDERS for 2nd/3rd day moisturization. I also use their BSP for sealing and their Shine & Define for styling. Darcy's Botanical Vanilla Delight leave-in runs close 2nd to Oyin (may be a tie for 1st b/c smell doesn't linger). Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Oil Heavy Cream (whatever the long name is) works GREAT but is on the more expensive side...so I don't use it too often. While I was away, I had been experimenting and falling more in love with my hair b/c its working for me right now...I have conquered a routine and the dryness ENEMY!!! Now, I have to focus on keeping its friend & my foe (Ms. Fairy Knot) away from my Precious!!!

I use the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Moisturizer. Some people consider avocado oil to be protein...? But I don't see why, so I consider it protein free. Anyway, it leaves my hair moisturized for days. Amazing.

Anyway, this may sound crazy, but what color label is that Shea Moisture Raw Shea Moisturizer? I ask b/c I have tried the yellow-colored label line and didn't like anything from it b/c it left my hair feeling like straw (Deep Masque Treatment). I am interested in trying their black soap (black label) line b/c of what I have heard from other naturals. I just have to find it
