is my hair sensative to protein??
my hair is coarse and I use a protein gel cause thats the only gel heavy enough for my hair but I feel like once my hair is dry it feels like my hair has lost all moisture:/ is this because I am protein sensative?

You very well COULD be protein sensitive, especially if you have coarse hair. If your hair feels dry even while it's wet or is dry, straw-like, and brittle when it's dry, that usually means you're protein sensitive. A good way for you to tell whether you're protein sensitive or not is to buy a gel without protein and see how your hair feels with that. If it's not dry anymore, you know it was the protein. If it's still dry, your issue could be caused from something else -- not using enough leave in conditioner, not using a heavy enough rinse out, not doing enough DTs, etc. Some popular protein-free gels are Herbal Essences Set Me Up and Totally Twisted, Got 2B Spiked Up, LA Looks NutraCurl, and Aussie gels. They are all drugstore options and are reasonably priced.

I've always read that coarse hair:
Needs no protein
Needs humectants
Needs emollients
Needs acidic treatments (ACV rinses)
Maybe you can try some products with these properties.

I use about 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar to 1 cup water for the acv rinse.
Humectants will pull moisture into your hair to balance it out (absorb water, hold in moisture). Common humectants are glycerine, panthenol, honey, aloe, propylene glycol, and vitamin B5.
"Emollients are referred to as moisturizers that soften, smooth, and give shine. They are usually forms of oil or nut butters. And they work by increasing the hair's ability to hold water. Water is actually the best emollient, but because it evaporates quickly, it can be ineffective. This is where other emollients come in to play. Water, because it evaporates quickly, needs to be held on the hair by emollient oils in what is called emulsion." Some natural emollients are oils - jojoba, argan, avocado, extra virgin olive oil, shea, cocoa, castor, etc., also aloe vera.

To expand on the ACV rinses, I put about 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar and about a cup and a half of water but its never exact and everyone is different. But my coarse hair def likes these rinses, it reduces my frizz
Also, I use Flax Seed gel. Natural, cheap, and protein free. Look up napturals85 on youtube for a great tutorial on how to make it
