Maybe not protein sensitive?
I thought that my hair was protein sensitive because all he products that were drying my hair out was protein based. The curl enhancer and frizz control that I have now I'm almsot positive don't have proteins in it, yet my hair is still dry. I am so confused. My hair is constantly staying dry and frizzy. I have no idea how to fix it. Help.

Protein sensitive hair is generally described as "straw-like". If your hair is just dry and frizzy it probably needs more moisture. This is a good tut on doing a wet stretch test: http://www.organiccolorsystems.com/a...-stretch-test/. Ignore the product recs they give, it's for a professional colorist and from a company pushing their products, but the how-to part and what it means is good.
Are you low-porosity by any chance?

My hair:
2b wavy, medium texture, low porosity, med-high density. Protein finicky.
My routine:
Cleansing: DCNP, every 4-5 days (occasionally use CJ cleansers).
RO: CJSC, occasionally use JCDC
LI: KCKT or CJSL
Gel: KCCC, CJCIAB for 2nd day hair (sometimes third)
Heat is my friend: warm water rinses, steam caps, and diffuse dry. I love CLU cloths and my Denman.

I just did the test and it broke, so the description said it was lacking protein and moisture.
and I just did the porosity test. I had done it before, but got confused by it. It seemed pretty smooth to me, so I guess I am low porosity. but the description of low porosity doesn't describe my hair. high-porosity does. Maybe I'm doing the test wrong. lol.

Actually, I think texture is a better indicator of protein sensitivity. My fine/low porosity hair LOVES protein.
You don't mention what products you're using. It would give people a better idea of what the problem is. Do you use shampoo?? DT?? Use products with a lot of chemicals?? It could be anything.

Shampoo and Conditioner: L'Oreal Evercreme
Spray Gel: Suave Curl Enhancer Spray
And then I had bought the L'Oreal eversleek frizz control and that makes my hair icky. The gel also hardens on my hair.
I was using EO Products, from the shampoos to the styling products. They were okay for a while and then my hair started drying out more and more, so I stopped those.
I've also used the Yes to Carrots. That didn't add enough moisture to my hair.
Added: I try to stay away from the sulfates, cones, parabens, proteins, etc.

I wasn't attempting to connect porosity and protein. I asked only because many people don't know how to help their low-po hair accept moisture.
OP - to start repairing your hair, you might consider a light PT. This can even be just a protein rich conditioner. Your hair might be protein sensitive but still needs a little. Mine needs a protein-rich RO occasionally - any more than that, though, is way too much. Follow the PT with a good DT.

Oil in and of itself isn't moisturizing. If your hair is fine and/or low porosity, it won't soak in at all--you could end up with greasy hair that you have to shampoo.
Can't help you with products. I haven't used any you listed. My hair prefers the more natural products from the online, boutique type companies.

I have medium with some course texture thrown in and protein works well for me, though it’s not ideal because I also have dense hair. The protein gives me better and more uniform curls- probably because I have color damage. The trade-off is my already thick hair looks a little thicker.
To the OP, use the search function to check out , sealing the hair, pH and closing the cuticle – it might be that you need to better seal your hair to eliminate frizz. Also, I am not sure what the L’oreal frizz control is – is that a serum? Maybe you need to add a leave-in versus yourcurl spray. For me, I cannot imagine not using a moisture based leave-in of some sort. Even before curly girl, that was a must do for frizz control.

Do your products have glycerin in them?

It seemed fairly sleek to me, so I think I am low porosity. but the information of low porosity doesn't explain my locks. high-porosity does.
