Success with egg-treatment despite protein-sensitivity?

So I always thought I was protein-sensitive because any product that I used with protein or aloe in it made my hair dry (e.g., anything from the Deva line or Curl Junkie). But sticking to a protein-free routine, I never felt like my curls had enough character, volume, or elasticity. And eventually they got so soft and fluffy last month that I decided they must be craving protein. So I did an egg-and-olive-oil-treatment and to my surprise it really brought my hair back to life, without making it the slightest bit dry. So now I am wondering maybe I am not protein-sensitive after all, and maybe I should start trying different products with protein. I was wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, e.g., success with eggs or any protein treatment despite protein-sensitivity. Doesn't protein-sensitivity mean that my hair should react badly to such treatments?

Egg protein is too large to penetrate hair, it's a lipid treatment not a protein treatment.

2a-2c, medium texture, porous/ colour treated. Three years CG. Past bra strap length heading for waist.

CO-wash: Inecto coconut/ Elvive Volume Collagen
Treatments: Komaza Care Matani, coconut/ sweet almond/ fractionated coconut oils, Hairveda Sitrinillah
Leave in: Fructis Sleek & Shine (old), Gliss Ultimate Volume, various Elvive
Styler: Umberto Giannini jelly, Au Naturale styling gelee
Flour sack towel, pixie diffuse or air dry.

This is funny because this was so me today but I added a moisturizing conditioner to the egg and olive oil mix. I did this because I have been moisturizing my hair for quite sometime! You probably are protein sensitive mabye your hair just needed a boost.. For me protein made my hair feel hard like dry but this time using a moisturizing conditioner made this go round fantastic! What do you mean by act bad? Like how? Your hair needs protein and moisture. You just have to balance the two.

Egg protein is too large to penetrate hair, it's a lipid treatment not a protein treatment.

As I already said egg protein is TOO LARGE of a molecule. Some of the lipids in the yolk are small enough to penetrate, for example oleic acid, possibly parts of the lecithin which are in the ceramide family and are polar.

Proteins in the published research that are substantive (patch repair the surface and/ or penetrate) are hydrolysed, or occasionally chemically modified to change the polarity/ affinity for other molecules.

I have just recently Live Curly Live Free. In it, Tiffany Anderson advocates that fine Curly hair needs protein. I tried her protein treatment using egg, mayo and EVOO last weekend and had wonderful results. I have fine, low porous, wavy/curly, low density, medium elasticity hair. And it's color treated.

If you have course curly you will probably be protein sensitive.
