After reading up on humectants, I've realized that I should be using a gel without/with little humectants. Anybody have any recommendations? Also, do KCCC and Miss Jessie's Pillow Soft Curls have humectants?

Miss Jessie's has glycerin high on the list. It's the only humectant I personally avoid as it's a strong one. KCCC has aloe vera as the 2nd ingredient, which is also a humectant but not as potent. Depending on your hair, and dew points, aloe may work for you.

Most of the gels in my signature do not have glycerin. But most do have aloe- my hair loves it, and I don't get the frizzies like I do with glycerin.

Condish: JC Too Shea, CJ Curl Rehab (both as RO & LI)

Thank you! Also, do you know the difference between vegetable glycerin and glycerin? Because Shea Moisture has vegetable glycerin and my hair seems to love it! Just not regular glycerin

Glycerin can be made from either vegetable oil or animal fat. The more natural companies that market to vegans use vegetable oil. There really is no difference in how they perform.
