These get good reviews, but I don't know if you can find them at Sally's in Wisconsin (the Sally's where I am doesn't carry Joico)

Joico KPak (protein-intensive restorative)
Elucence has a repair product, don't remember the name
formerly Castella
(my dogs aren't snarly, my hair is)
joico is quite expensive, is it not?
ofcourse, i'll do anything for my right now. lol

Ouidad Deep Conditioning Treatment. Use it 1-2x/month. Expensive, but works really well.
I've heard the Nexxus Emergencee is great for damaged hair. You can buy that at Wal-Mart, but for the (4 oz?) bottle it's close to $14, I think.
I had the same problem! I had bleached and straitened my hair for about a year straight and it was sooo damaged and I didn't have my ringlets any more I finally chopped it off and went back from being white white white blonde to brunette with some highlights. My hair is getting much better, I have my ringlets back, but there was some bad hair days in between! I DT'd alot (I experimented but what worked really well was any good conditioner and I added honey and jojoba oil and kept it on over night). Right now I use Ojon, it is great, but VERY expensive. I think you can buy a sample size at Sephora. I would have used this when I started recouping my hair in May if I would have known about it. My hair is doing great now, I hope I didn't just jinx it good luck and God speed curly sister
MM Shampoo and MM Condish(mixed with honey), Bed Head Ego Boost leave-in, CK, Re:coil......Loving it
Nexxus Emergencee
Ojon Restorative Hair Treatment
Sallys - Lustrasilk Sheabutter cholesterol (add a little oil and honey and sit under a heating cap)

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
coconut oil or olive oil, i read somewhere that because of their molecular property these two can penetrate the hair. ( apparently jojoba oil cannot penetrate the hair and is actually a wax)

jessicurl weekly deep treatment is very good.
type 3b.
modified CG.
CON red, inecto-co, invisigel.
Aphogee Treatment is the only thing that can really work miracles on damaged hair. Not the conditioner but the treatment, which is nasty-smelling, messy to use, and generally yukky but works like a dream. I've trashed my hair too many times to count with overprocessing, overdying, bleaching, etc., and Aphogee has saved my butt every single time. You can buy it at any beauty supply store or online. I found Nexxus products to be overhyped, overpriced conditioners that did flat nothing for damaged hair. Joico's K-Pak is good for dry, slightly damaged hair but not for severely damaged hair. These basically have a lot of silicones to make the hair feel smoother, but Aphogee is a super-powered protein treatment that puts strength back in your hair. Go with Aphogee.
Note: Make sure to use a very rich moisturizing conditioner after an Aphogee treatment (I recommend Neutrogena's Triple Moisture) -- Aphogee strengthens your hair and it will feel "hard" if you don't moisturize afterward.
Modified CG. You'll pry my 'cones from my cold dead fingers! Mixed waves, coarse, below shoulder length, dark brown. I hate my hair but I'm trying to learn to accept it.

Gels: LA Looks Wet Look Styling Gel, Garnier Fructis Wet Shine Gel. Condish: Alberto V05 Free Me Fresia, Tresemme' Flawless Curls, LVPNG, Neutrogena Triple Moisture. Shampoo: Tresemme' Flawless Curls. Silicone Serum: Whatever is on sale, but I don't leave home without it.

Coconut oil is really cheap. Pick it up in a health food store, refrigerated section. It has the consistency of butter. I would just melt a bit, mix with honey & olive oil and saturate my hair in it. Leave it on for the night (sit in the sun or hit with a blowdryer if you have the time) and rinse in the morning.

I do this weekly and my hairdresser constantly talks about my hair and has started recommending this to people who come in with fried hair. He thinks it works better that the stuff they sell

The aphogee is a heavy treatment but it basically stopped the breakage. I did two treatment about 6 weeks apart and by then my hair was pretty much back to normal. If you color your hair I would definately wait until right before time to color again though because it does strip the color. It actually does tell you on the bottle to use it right before coloring and right after bleach.
i just asked the same question , but my damage is from chemically straightening, relaxing. i was told to get aphogee, as some here have mentioned and after one treatment i have noticed a huge improvement. it is only 7 or so at sallys. i also got the aphogge oil and keriton spray to help it along. my hair went from needing to be chopped off to silky smooth. i have alot of broken ends that are noticable but they are broke so nothing short of a trim will help with that . i plan on doing that next week.sam2
My hair felt terrible after a recent highlight over already-colored hair--matted during shampooing and like straw when dried. Then I splurged on travel size Ojon Ultra Hydrating shampoo and conditioner and what a difference they made!

After using DevaOneConditioner, my hair is awesome. Here is a website to get it as cheap as possible.

30 bucks for a 32 oz bottle. Don't shampoo AT ALL. Just keep using this everyday.
I am a 2c w/spirals underneath! 35 years old with 85% white hair. I am currently using DevaOne everyday with No Poo. I am using Smooth N Shine Gel Conditioner Extra-Hold on my course hair and it works awesome for 3 bucks. I found putting Color Magic into my hair color really covers the gray well.
How do you leave it in overnight? Do you put your hair in a plastic cap, put a towel over your pillow? How do you protect your pillow case?
Currently, using JC HCC, Too Shea, CK and CCSS, RR or LOOB or MOP-C.
CK is the one!!

as of 6/17/10 - I have to add Joico!
