Default Paul Brown Hawaii Hair Products

Anyone else ever use these? As a certified (or certifiable) PJ I saw these products in Hair Cosmopolitan (hair styling/product store in a mall) and of course was intrigued.

I purchased the Gelatine Goo. Because I am going out today and I was in the car with the sunroof open it gave me the opportunity to re-do my hair today. I shampoo'd (a whole different story - malibu products for hard water!!) conditioned with Giovanni 50/50 then CK, then a pea size of Mop C curl cream and then this new Goo. The tube said a small amount so I figured I would listen to them - probably a pea size again - rubbed in my hands and then distributed through my hair. I scrunched with hands/curlease towel then diffused. Holy Hold!! For such a small amount I have very firm hair right now. I will update this when it's dry and I decrunchify.

Here is their info on this product:

Who is it for? People with normal or fine/limp hair
What does it do? Sculpts, molds, stlyes, and sets hair

Formualted by Paul Brown in Hawaii, Gelatine Goo was designed for sculpting, molding and detailing your hairstyle. It is versatile enough to be used as a setting gel. Gelatine Goo is made with our unique Hawaiian Protein Flora Complex, which includes Hwaiian Botanicals and Kukui Nut Oil. Kukui Nut Oil promotes gloss and guards against damage. It will not flake or dull the hair when dry. This formula contains a natural nut protein and it will not lift or remove your hair color.

http://paulbrownhawaii.com/_library/...latine_goo.pdf

That link lists the ingredients. It was $10.99 for the tube - a bit bigger than the Mop C Curl Cream tube - but if this is all I have to use - it will last me forever!

I've never tried them, but I've seen this brand a lot online and I'm always so tempted to order because the ingredients always look so good -- just like they do in this Goo!

I am just totally amazed at the hold this product has with the amount I used. Those darn nuts must have some good stuff in 'em!

Ok I was *slightly* relieved when the ingredients listed wheat protein (big no-no for me) because I was about to buy it and I've gone way overboard this month w/ product! But to be fair I've found some great stuff for my hair.

Let us know in a few days if this is still working for you though - the protein is so far down on the list it might be worth the try.....

This product scrunched out nicely and I got great curls. I think if my hair were longer I might have actually been able to get 2nd day hair!

I am going to try this today again but without the MopC underneath but with a bit of sheam instead.

I will update.

Ok..this is such an interesting product.

I decided to try this without SheaM - so some CK and then just this goo. For using such a small amount this stuff packs some punch. I got incredible volume already and at this point it is airdrying-I diffused a bit. I got more clumps yesterday using Mop C underneath. But I got a lot of curl today - just lots of separate ones. I will update once I scrunch.

Wow, volume would be good for me! My hair is pretty short right now and does tend to need some volume help, so I've been using a bit of mousse over a cream and under a gel....now I'm very intrigued....

Decent curl even after it's dry and scrunched and the volume remained!

I am going to try this with other products underneath and see if I can get better clumping with other products.

Once again I was amazed at the hold with the small amount of product I used and my hair seemed to dry faster using this instead of my normal gels too. It scrunches out fine which did concern me when I saw the hold it had after I diffused yesterday and today.

Do you happen to know if Ulta carries this? I've never seen it in any stores around me. Between this and all the rave reviews for the Biotera gel & cream, my PJ wants to come out and play really bad. I've been trying to keep her grounded.......................it's not working.

I am not sure and their site was not helpful about places that sold it - I just happened to see it. I really like the biotera gel - not so much with the cream and you know how I like creams!

Well, I didn't see Paul Brown Hawaii listed on Ulta's website, but I know they'll have stuff in the store that isn't listed on their site.

Is the Biotera cream everybody is raving about a curl cream or the leave-in conditioner? I think shellynot was mixing the leave-in with the gel on her videos? At least Sally's is easy for me to get to and it's cheap.

I have used the Paul Brown Resurrect Reconstructor which I believe is mostly protein. It was just okay.

Msgiblet, the Biotera Curl Creme is a creme and actually I recently returned it to Sally's cuz even tho it gets raves it just didn't work for my hair.

MsG - The curl creme is actually just a curl creme, and not a leave in, though in my hair it seems to work exactly as I want a leave in to work! It detangles my hair and gives it nice slip, and then I use their gel as well, or my FX gel which I think you have in your sig? It works great for me under both of those products.

I also use a squirt of it with a tiny bit of the suave coconut mixed in a 6oz spray bottle and it's made the BEST refresher I've ever used. Even more BOING with no frizz!!

Ok..today I put on some CK in the shower, then a bit of coffeecoco curl cream raked/scrunched into hair. No combing other than after my conditioner and CK. Then I applied my pea sized amount of the goo and once again - great hair. I scrunched right side up and upside down then diffused a bit upside down and then right side up.

The name goo is very appropriate because I am amazed at the hold and volume I get form this!!

MsG - you know I am a curl cream fanatic but the biotera curl cream - not so much. I love the gel though!

I used to use Paul Brown products years ago ... I remember that all of them smelled absolutely amazing .... do they still?

The goo looks really good .... who thinks of these names anyway!

Default Philly area Curlies

I was at Beautyland in Newtown, Bucks Co. They carry some of the Paul Brown Hawaii Products!! I got the last tube of goo. Can't wait to use it. Don't know if the other stores have it. They have a ton of the products discussed on the boards. It's great to not have to pay shipping. May be worth the trip! I'm going upstairs to redo my hair and use it.

I have been using the Goo quite often lately and am really liking it. It took me some playing with it to find out how it would work best.

I didn't find mixing it with other products worked well for me, but that is no surprise; I never have any luck with that.

I have been using it after plopping, just before I diffuse. I scrunch in about a dime's worth after I take the towel off. It really encourages the curl and provides a lot of hold.

I used to scrunch in some extra gel after plopping, but I much prefer the Goo. I find it gives the extra hold that I sometimes lost after plopping, but without the crunchiness I got with the extra gel.
