Eco Styler Anyone?

Has anyone tried Eco Styler Gel (pink or clear). I saw it in CVS yesterday and I was curious. I scanned the ingredients and they didn't look too bad - I didn't see any cones or mineral oils. Please post your reviews if you've tried it. Thanx!
Eco styler gel is awesome for my 4B hair. I wash my hair with conditioner, apply a lot of leave-in conditioner (preferably one with no cones), then apply Krystal Eco styler gel as I would a relaxer - part, apply, part apply, and finally allow to air dry or blow dry.

What I like: My hair is thicker than a mo-fo and the hold is strong enough for my hair to curl up (don't use a comb or denman brush during application- 4Bs) and with the leave-in conditioner under the gel, it will dry soft. - Please don't be delusional- it is gel and will feel as though some gel is in your hair but it's touchable.

What I don't like: My hair is trapped in the middle in regards to length, like R-Kelley was trapped in the closet and it doesn't hang yet. Therefore, I have not figured out how to get 2nd day hair from this process. It's winter time and very cold here in Chicago, so I've been forced to stop washing my hair in the morning.

Overall: I also like the fact that it "plays" well with other products and is waaaaayyyyy easier to use than KCCC (kinky curly curling custard - which is also a good product). Actually, for this reason and for the fact that Eco Styler Gel is $2 vs. $26 is why I believe I prefer Eco Styler gel over any other styling product. Especially for my very real 4B hair.
I love ecostyler!! I don't use gels often, but when I do its my gel of choice. Very thick with good hold and doesn't leave my hair dry or crunchy. I use the clear kind and it has a similar effect as KCCC for only two bucks. I highly recommend it!

I tried the Krystal Eco Styler gel and it seems to work really well. I was concerned about the protein, but so far it hasn't caused any dryness. It gives weight to my hair and doesn't dry hard or crunchy. I don't have to use much of it and it's inexpensive. Anyway, that's my little review of this product.

This is who I first learned about Ecostyler gel from. her album shows it in use. Her hair is more than twice as long now since this was 2007.

Kinkerbelle

I don't use it because it reduces my volume too much. My hair is thin to medium.

Suburbanbushbabe,

Thanks for sharing kinkerbelle's fotki! I love fotki, it's like wikipedia for hair. LOL. I'm going to try her technique and see if I get even better results.

Anyway, I can totally understand how it could take away the volume too much. Good point.

I've used ecostyler and i loved the results, i use the brown one. Just make sure you use a good moisturizing leave in and you're good to go..

I love it- I use it on my edges, an d in the summer, I will use iton my length. It really controls my 4a/4b hair. I apply a leave in before the gel
I love it... white is the hardest hold while blue is the softest hold I use different colors depending on if I want my hair flat (for a ponytail) or not
It's a staple product for me. I use the clear one. Only one store (Walgreens) in the city where I can find it, but I drive those 15 miles to get my Ecostyler.
I am the beloved of God...and so are you

3c on crown/4a on sides and back with a sprinkle of 4b. My hair loves jojoba, castor, and sweet almond oil (and so does my skin). Coconut oil..not so much. My hair is coarse, thick and I can't get enough of the two-strand twists.
I've tried it alone, mixed with water and mixed w/products -- doesn't do a thing for my 3A-3B hair -- adds volume which I don't need.
Homemade FSG, CK, KCCC and BRHG. Co wash w/Suave, or soap bars (occasionally) or Come Clean (Kinky Curly).
I love it! It actually holds my thick style resistant hair! I use my KKKT underneath it and have wonderful results. You should go for it.
3a/b, auburn haired, BIG, coarse and frizz prone.

My hair hates:
Curl Keeper
Anything with lots of protein
AOHR

Things that work:
Aveda Flaxseed and Aloe Gel
Aveda Phomollient
BRHG!
Giovanni 50/50 Balanced Condish
KCCC and KCKT (Found my HG combo!)
DevaCurl Angell
LOOB
L'Oreal Melting Gel

I use EcoStyler Krystal and love it! Gives me just as much frizz control as some of my higher-priced products, lots of definition, and very little crunch. And you get a lot for a very small price!

Hi ladies I'm new to naturallycurly, and I came across it looking for something to substitute kccc, cause I can't keep coming out of pocket for an expensive product AND shipping! I got some ecostyler today, and i LOVE it!!! It is way easier to use than kccc. I actually applied to damp hair and it work out quite nicely, without all the sloppy stickiness of my former product. Thanks to all of you who posted and inspired me to go cheaper!
I haven't used the clear or pink EcoStyler gels, but I do use and love their Olive Oil Gel. It is easy to apply, non-sticky, dries flexible and doesn't flake. I like it because it contains Olive Oil, and seems to do better with my hair than regular gel. I highly recommend it.

Is everyone still giving this gel a thumbs up? I don't use gels cause they do nothing for me, But I came across this vid http://www.youtube.com/user/jwhjprins#p/u/3/oHrzO-PEJTQ
so now I want to try it, I've tried IC fantasia and no good results, no good results from KCCC.

I'm a fellow west indian as well girl so perhaps our curl types/texture may be similar so I'm going to attach a pic so you can see...

I have to agree - I love it too! like lateocurls said - the Olive Oil one is GREAT! I use it all of the time now.. But it did take some experimenting... Surprisingly enough, I have to use it over another gel for best results for my hair - which is pretty thick, 3C... I use LA looks Curl gel under, then Eco on top - I diffuse or let air dry and it's great!!!
Tara - have a curly day!!!

LA Looks Curl Gel, Sauve Naturals conditioners Waterlily, CK, Deva Archangel , LOOB (has its days)...
Deva One - LOVE it!!!!!!!

Botticelli's Flax Seed Hair Gel (a DIY!!!) THANKS Botticelli!!!!!!
Curl Junkie Coffee Coco Creme (LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!)
Shea Moisture Smoothie - GREAT stuff!

for the love of the lens...
