Does anyone else think the MiraCurl is almost exactly like FSG in terms of consistency?

It's kind of a cross between FSG and KCCC--it's all a gelled type product that's curl enhancing. I looked for the ingredients for the original, but we didn't post them in the Donna Marie Update thread. The original MiraCurls Curling Gelly didn't have any flax or linseed, as I recall. Checked my jar and didn't see it--but the print's so small. This is what Ayanna said about it when asked, "The MiraCurl Curling Gelly is a more like a gel in texture and provides more slip than the Coco Curly Butter, which had more of a creamy gel and butter-like consistency. The end result is the same--enhanced curl definition. The Gelly provides more curl definition than the Coco Curly Butter, in my opinion, and it is a much more universal product. All curl types will see results."

I'm pretty sure the sample I got in a swap is the new formula with the linseed--because I can see a flax seed in the Gelly!
I know some people, myself included, can't use FSG every day. Does this mean one shouldn't rotate MiraCurl with FSG because they're so similar?

If it's the black specks, it's the beet extract that's used to color it. The ingredients list says linseed extract. I can only use FSG once a week and have a good hair day. I can use this twice a week, so far. I think you have to experiment and see how your hair reacts.

It's been raining here since Friday so I haven't had a chance to use my gelly. I refuse to use product when it rains continuously like this. I'm bummed. It is sitting their taunting me. It says the humidity is at 95% today and since this has glycerin in it would it be a bad idea or a good idea to use it? This is my first product with glycerin it it and I'm not sure. I get so confused with humidity and dew points.

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I love this stuff!!! Got it two days ago and I'm already in love
I think the key to this product for me is the same key to flax seed gel: use it like there's no tomorrow! I first finger rake some through everywhere, then apply 3 nice size globs via scrunching and voila! Shiny frizz free wonderfulness. Oh and it smells amazing! The girl in the room next to me walked into my room to get something from me and she HAD to know what I was using on my hair cuz she said it smelled so good!
I got mine delayed but that was fine (worth the wait). Mine came in a pump bottle which works really well

I did this today, usually use minute amounts of products--except for FSG. I think it is possible to use too much, LOL! I scrunched a lot into soaking wet hair. Beautiful curls, but too much product! Next time, I will be a little more moderate in my application.

Yeah I'm sure it's definitely possible to use too much but I haven't found out how much that is for me yet haha. So much to play with

Just wanted to report from this corner: having a great hair day with the MiraCurl Gelly. I will use it a few more times in a row to see how it holds up in repetition.
Does anyone use the Cocoa Hemp Hair Buttercreme with it, and how do you use it? Over, under, on wet or dry hair?

SG.
I use CHB, but not with MC
I've used it on wet hair as a curl enchancer in the past and I've used it on dry hair. It's pretty thick and you definitely could easily over do it.

Thanks, IamDonna! I haven't used CHHB yet... I may try it on its own as a curl cream, as wavy wonder suggests.

Yeah I know!
I'm going to test it out while the dews are still high to see how it holds up.

IamDonna, have you tried Avalon Organics olive & grape seed poo? That's my HG lowpoo. I wash twice (as with all natural shampoos), and get gentle but thorough cleansing and virtually no hair loss. It works well with removing all the CG hair products I use.

I love this stuff. I used it without a leave-in based on LL's advice, and with BRHG on top and got super frizz free hair. It did take the volume down a notch - which isn't great for me cause I like volume, but the shine and smoothness was worth it.

I did, used it under the gelly on damp hair. It seems too light for my hair as I like it to get weighed down a bit.

Okay, so I couldn't wait any longer and finally tried the Leave-in and Gelly today. This are my results:
Pros:
- Hands don't feel producty after use like KCCC
- Didn't dry crunchy and no oil was added to my hair like with KCCC
Cons:
- Smell is too strong for me as it burns my nose
- I had to use twice as much as I do with KCCC
- Can't use when dews are high
- Neck is itchy (but I did Henna/Cassia last night not sure if that is the reason)
It didn't elongate my curls which isn't a good or bad thing and I'm hoping the smell with dissipate after my hair actually dries. So I will have to update this once it does.
I was not happy with my hair when I left the house this morning and I made sure to bring a handband, bobby pins and a pontytail holder just in case. However, it is now about 95% dry now and it doesn't look bad. I only had to pull back the front.
Oh, I didn't think to check the dew point until after I did my hair and that was when I realized it was at 70. Therefore, I added a cheapie gel on top to help combat the frizz. Considering that so far it's not a bad hair day
To sum up as long as smell dissipates after my hair has dried I will give it another try when the dews are lower. If not, you will see them on the swapboard!

Thanks for the help.
I'll have to give it a try. They carry AO products at Vitamin Shoppe a bit cheaper than Whole Foods.
Do you know if it is protein free??
TY again
