Just found this thread, and I have to say I think EcoStyler Black (protein) just might be my HG!!! I am so excited, I don't think I've found the perfect way to apply it quite yet, but I've had two great hair days in a row so far! I definitely have to comb it through my fine hair, and I used the Super Soaker method, no leave in, and FSG under it. I will keep experimenting and see what happens, but I think I really like this stuff!

I at first tried Ecostyler with some LALSG and my hair was becoming super weighed down. I did an SLS wash to get the buildup out, then used the Ecostyler by itself. I raked it through, then got a little more and scrunched. I plopped then let it air dry. When it was dry, it was perfect! Lots of curl defenition.

I just tried Ecostyler for the first time yesterday, and I love the curl definition, but it made my hair feel really dry, almost like straw. I started with a small amount of Deva One Condition, added the Ecostyler and some Pantene spray gel, plopped for a few minutes then let it air dry the rest of the way. It was crunchy so I scrunched it out with Set It Free, which usually leaves my hair soft. Any ideas why my hair would feel so dry? I think my hair is medium texture, high porosity, low elasticity and high density. Hard to tell because I don't really have anything to compare it to. I'm going to try it again today with some Set Me Up gel and use less of the Ecostyler.

I would be shocked if you couldn't still get it at CVS.

Ecostyler has hydrolyzed wheat protein as the third ingredient which could cause the reaction you had if you are protein sensitive. Have you ever had a similar reaction with other products that contain protein?

This my first post in this forum.
How do I love you Ecostyler? Let me count the ways:
1)Giant tub of magical goo for 3$ that may last a lifetime. You have no idea how much I love a bargain.
2)Gives me a daily hit of protein
3)I can feel it pulling my hair into clumps as I scrunch it in.
4)wave/curl enhancement
5) has some EDTA in it which helps remove some hard water build up. (2nd to last ingredient, but there is still some)

cons
1) I can't use it in the dry winter because of the glycerin.

I need tons of hold, so for me the ecostyler krystal is a curl enhancer. I put BRHG over the top. This is a summer HG for me.

Default revisiting the Ecostyler clear gel

I bought a HUGE tub of this last year and had good results but then shelved it until now. I am liking it again although it is hard to get past how awful it feels when I apply it.

I used a light leave in and supersoaked--then I scrunched until I had that squishy sound and continued to scrunch with my curls like us towel. I don't know what it is about this stuff but it really is a great curl enhancer for my hair.

I am very sad. This gel destroys my hair. Must be the wheat protein. I thought I'd give it a shot though. It's one of those products I want to love so badly but it's just not going to work.

EDIT: tried it again and wow! my hair seems to love it.

Ecostyler is a very weird product to me! For some reason, it doesn't mix well with BRHG in my hair even though others can mix the two, no problem. My hair just goes limp. I'm also not a big fan of the dryness I get.

But it does have great clumping ability! I think I'll use Ecostyler when I want to have looser and softer looking waves.

I love this gel, but my one and only complainant is the long drying time. When it's not dry or while it's drying it makes my hair looks as if there's white product or a cream look on it. Then when it is finally dry it looks great. I always put a moisturizer or a leave-in underneath. The weather here is starting to get cold which means that's longer drying time, and going to work until my hair is dry with white product on it.

When I was relaxed/texlaxed I use to use FOTE aloe vera gel with no problems, but that gel is way to light for my hair now. What would you ladies suggest I do?

I just bought the Krystal Styling Gel today. I really wanted the olive oil, but that was sold out. I little goes a long way for me, so this will last me a long, long time. I just want to keep my plaits/twists/knots looking clean and de-frizzed.

DO NOT USE TOO MUCH

My mom got finger coils done at her salon and the person that did it used way too much so her hair was looking mighty crunchy and thinnish...you gotta use only a small amount but it's a good product. I have yet to try this with a wash and go but I sure it would come out nicely

So my hair has been on the fritz. I was using Deva's B'Leave-In under my "holding" styler (usually FSG or the like), and I loved it. Then I ran out.

My hair instantly poofed, it frizzed, the curls weren't there. I had loose waves that sometimes halfway morphed into a curl in places. I looked like I stuck my tongue in a toaster. Going from sleek, bouncy, well defined curls to that is.. disheartening.

And of course, Alabama being how it is, the weather decided that it would be hilarious to raise the humidity and DRIZZLE all over the place.

Enter Ecostyler with Protein- wheat protein, which is apparently my hair's favorite sort.

I picked this tub up today. I went home, put away the groceries, and before I ran to work, grabbed the front left section of my hair, cowashed it in the sink with Suave Coconut, threw on a little Tresumme Naturals condish, and then put a gob of the ES on my locks. I diffused the patch, and WOW.

I had to hairspray my whole head this morning to get a basic resemblance of actual CURLS in my hair. My hair is frizzy and crunchy and icky dry feeling- except where I rinsed that junk out and put on the ES protein. Those locks are shiny and soft and bouncy ringlets.

LOVE. IT.

Not only does it work extremely well, but I'm pretty sure that it's replaced B'Leave-in in my routine. And saving $35 or so a month (or more) is okay by me.

I have a tub of the protein and can't wait to try it, but I'm scared of glycerin in these low dews (30s this week). That combination basically guarantees a day of ridiculous hair, right?

I just purchased the Olive Oil EcoStyler over this past weekend and I'm looking forward to using it after I wash my hair tonight to style it. Hopefully I get pretty great results.

I used some of it to slick back my my edges today to do an updo for work and so far so good. The smell of it is pleasant too.

Okay so I just used the EcoStyler Gel and OMG . . OMG . . OMG . . I love it. My hair is still wet and is thoroughly covered in the gel and my hair's not shrinking. I have amazing clumps and just sheesh. I love this junk.

I put my grapeseed oil on first, the my KCKT, then like 4/5 dollops of Olive Oil EcoStyler and bam, beautifulness.

I'll still use my KCCC when I want shrinkage for my curly fro, but I wanted to switch it up a bit. I like the way it's drying so far.

I'll update in the morning to see how it holds up against my oh so sexy satin bonnet.
