Hi Zenalla

I picked some up in a black beauty store in Brixton. A curly on the British curlies site gave me the heads up on this. Am trying it for the first time right now! Plopping at the moment so we will see! I usually use KCCC but I thought I'd give this gel a try as there seems to be a lot of positive reviews. Hope you manage to find some!

^Thank you!

I just checked the ingredient list, I'm afraid the glycerin will give me problems, so not sure if I should try this gel out.

Used it last week with a little shea butter to slick my hair back into a bun. Good hold & no crunch.

How does your hair react to glycerin, sweetseven?

^It dries out my hair and leaves it frizzy. I try to avoid it in leave-in or stylers.

Thanks Crystal and Sweetseven for the info about places where I can buy it.
Sweetseven, it's also available in amazon.fr (with probably lower shipping fee)

I was using this gel alone but it was taking forever for my hair to dry. I've started using it over the Biotera gel and am getting great curls with this combo and it has really reduced my drying time.

Default Loving it so far

I've been using the clear EcoStyler gel for a couple of weeks, and I love it! It's more curl enhancing and has much better hold than KCCC. It's weird stuff though, and I use it differently from other products. I sort of immediately figured out what I need to do with it. I'm still not sure how best to use KCCC. Basically, I need to use a LOT of it, and I need to rewet my hair after applying so that it will separate into clumps.
I'm using it over just my leave-in. I use a big handful of the stuff and slap/smooth it on my wet hair. I comb thru with my Mebco (all upside down). It does make my hair feel weird at this stage and it all sort of sticks together in one big sticky plasticky sheet. So I pour some cool water over my head, then I brush thru with my Denman. Then I stick my head under the tap a bit to get my hair to loosen up a bit. Then I shake it from side to side so that it will separate into big clumps. Then I scrunch it some with my hands -- it's really wet and heavily coated and it makes the squishy sound.
Then I scrunch with a cloth. Because my hair is SO wet at this stage, I've started using my microfiber cloths again, which I haven't used in a long time. I scrunch a bit with the MF, then I scrunch more with my floursack or diaper. If I use the MF only while my hair is really wet, I don't get frizzing.
I'm getting a lot more clumping and spiralling at this stage than I've seen in a long time. Then I plop for awhile. Then I follow my usual routine. My hair always takes a long time to dry, and yes, I think this stuff adds to drying time, but so did KCCC and FSG.
I get some crunch.
This stuff has really good hold, and my hair feels soft and natural after I fluff and de-crunch, which is a surprise since the stuff feels so weird when I put it on my wet hair. I actually got good fourth-day hair yesterday by dampening my hair at the sink and scrunching in some leave-in and more Eco Gel. Usually by third day, I won't have any curls left at all and I'll just braid or bun my hair. Yesterday I had my nice waves all day and got compliments.
I'm wondering if this is one of those products that works great for a month and then suddenly it all goes to hell. But if not, this stuff is a winner, and what a bargain. Can someone describe the brown gel and how it differs? I might need a second huge bucket of gel to trip over in my bathroom.
I would say this is a HG gel.

The brown has no glycerin in it and it's a level 7 or 8 hold.

I too find that combing the Olive Eco style gel with another gel - LA Looks Curly gel - is a GREAT combo for me! I get GREAT clumps and hold, no crunch and even 3 and 4 day hair if I want!!!!

I would try applying it while in the shower, because your hair is soaking wet! Me and my sister have done this pleanty of times. We got tired of sticking our heads under the faucet, apply more gel, head under the faucet and so on so on,lol. Also i just found out this summer that if my hair is soaking wet/use a spray bottle i get away with using much less, and have less cruncy hair. I was buying the big 'ole' gallon one for $7 bucks, because i use so much of it if my hair isn't soaking wet or in the shower.

By the way i use the clear one. I wanted to try the olive oil want but didn't like the smell.

I wanted to like this product but the results sucked. I tried it a few times and this will just become the gel I use to put my hair in ponytails. The biggest problem was dry hair and with this prduct, I was not able to achieve second day hair. I was hoping this would replace my KCCC, like it has done for others but it didn't. The results can't even compare to the hair I get from KCCC.

I just need to remember the phrase "If it isn't broke, don't try to fix it."

Has anyone tried using this product for twists or braids? If it's similar to Fantasia IC, I would assume it would work. Just curious.

I've tried both the olive oil and protein (brown) eco gels with twists. They both had great results. Soft hold, well defined twists, no crunch.
