Scalp scrub for Dry Itch Scalp
I have a dry scalp, prone to flakes and the itchies.
I'm trying to tweak a good scalp scrub recipe, any input would be great!! This is what I have so far Tea tree Oil Aloe Juice Jojoba oil Brown sugar Does any one use a scalp scrub?? any tips on how to apply?? what benefits have you seen?? |
I have a bottle of Tea Tree Oil Skin and Scalp Treatment. Not that you have to use all these ingredients, but just to give you an idea of what's in it: Soybean oil, Tea Tree oil, Safflower oil, Vitamin E, Carrot extract, Aloe vera extract, Rose Hips oil, Peanut oil, Sweet Almond oil, and some parabens. I put some on my fingertips and massage into my scalp. I do it on days I low-poo when I need it - about once a week . It works great - no more itchy dry scalp!

Curly Jammy,
You can make a nice scrub with the ingredients you listed in your post. Add aloe gel _get the real gel that is thicker than the juice but natural kind, jojoba, tea tree oil, and brown sugar into your favorite conditioner. Scrub it on your scalp and leave it on for at least one minute. It is very soothing. But make sure to only use a few drops of TTO (about 3). Too much can also irritate your scalp. HTH |
Anytime I use brown sugar it always seems to dissolve too quickly. Even if I mix it up right before use... Is there anything else I can use?

Sesame oil has been used traditionally in ayurvedic medicine for dry, itchy scalp and lots of other uses for the body. I've been planning to try it myself! Might be a good one to include!

I make a baking soda/brown sugar paste to help with an itchy scalp.
