Adding Water To Butters & Oils

I really want to make my own water based moisturizer, but I'm clueless when it comes to mixing water with oils and butters, and preserving the mixture correctly. Please help!!
Products I Use: African Black Liquid Soap, Coconut Oil, and Shea Butter.
I use an emulsifying wax when I melt the butters and oils together then add water.
- don't let everybody elses long straight weave bum you out. don't let other people's big/long natural hair bum you out either. embrace what you have and rock it with confidence, because that's the only way you'll be happy. and whether you realize it or not you are somebody's influence. show them what it truly means to be confident.

I do the same, using a hand mixer. I think it's very similiar to how to make mayo with eggs and oil.
There's a wealth of info online, regarding the type of preservatives to use with oil/water mixes, including the amounts.
