Have your mixtures ever made you sick?

I recently have started mixing together my own products and in the midst of my research I have come across some pretty scary articles about harmful bacteria, mold, and yeast growing in mixes that aren't properly preserved. I've seen that the solution is to make small batches and use them quickly, but I don't know if I can make it through my mixes in two or three weeks.

So my questions are... Have you ever had any mixes spoil? If so, is it very noticiable (i.e. drastic change in scent or color)? Have any of your mixes ever made you sick?
Finally 100% natural. I'm embracing my curls.

Still loving my curls and kinks!
Products I love:
Ion Dandruff/Seborrheic Dermatitis Tar Shampoo
Suave Shea Butter Conditioner
Biolage Scalp Therapy Shampoo
Biolage Fortify Therapy Shampoo
Trader Joe's Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner
Beautiful Textures Rapid Repair Deep Conditioner
Shea butter, olive oil, coconut oil, apricot oil, peppermint oil, tea tree oil, and eucalyptus oil
^^ IA. I always use a combination of tea tree oil, Vit E, rosemary and GSE in my mixes.
Just use a good preservative. I use ROE (Rosemary Oil Extract). Grapefruit seed extract and vita E (cannot remember which form) are also good preservatives. Also, if you do not put water in your formulations that helps. Bacteria needs both air and water to grow. One reason why Ren natural products has their products in airless containers and do not add water.
Thanks ladies. I do add Vitamin E and rosemary oil to my mixes, but I read that those aren't sufficient because so much of the oil is needed to prevent bacterial/mold/yeast that it would ruin the mix. That's why I was wondering if anyone actually had a mix go bad or make them sick.
Finally 100% natural. I'm embracing my curls.
