Honey and olive oil?
 

Have you had luck with using a honey and olive oil treatment for your hair? Mine became a greasy mess that took much too long to get out. :(

I never used Honey and olive oil, but I use honey mixed with shea butter and coconut oil and my hair isn't left feeling greasy. Maybe try honey is a different formula, that may not make your hair as greasy.

I never use it straight up. I always mix it with one of my conditioners.. it makes it creamier! & makes a mediocre conditioner awesome!

Honey and OO is one of my HG deep treatments. I have to do it at least once a week. By I have a lot of thick hair and it can handle a lot of OO. Every hair has its own preferences so you may change OO with a lighter oil or play with the quantity. A little bit of OO goes a long way for most types of hair. But it's very very good for your hair, I'd say give it another shot.

@generosityt I totally agree, some products work differently on peoples hair. Like this one girl can't use coconut oil on her hair because it makes her hair smell sour. But I can use coconut oil on my hair and it makes my hair feel soft and moisturized. Trying to find the perfect products for you hair is trail and error, some things will work and others wont. But it is good to know what your hair likes and what it doesn't like. I just suggest experimenting with different things and see what things things you hair does like.

I love doing honey and olive oil treatments as a pre-poo. It makes my hair feel soft no matter what shampoo I use.

I always added honey and olive oil to my cheap conditoner for cowashes. In the winter I just use a bit of Olive oil on my scalp.

Doesn't adding honey to your conditioner like, make it expire soon or somethign?
i add honey into the conditioner i put in my hands, i doubt i could do that eery day with a bottle of olive oil (i'd get funny looks from my parents)

how do you mix it with the conditioner?

You could take a small plastic bottle (from Walmart or Target for about $1) and put some conditioner in there. Then add a little honey (and whatever other oils you want). That way you're only experimenting with small amounts of stuff.

Those of you adding the honey and olive oil to your condishes, is this just for cowashes and/or rinse outs or are y'all adding them to leave ins?

I've done the honey and olive oil treatment and didn't really like it. It didn't seem to do anything BUT when i mixed honey with a bit of olive oil in my conditioner and let is sit a while (about an hour) deep conditioning it-it was GREAT. It left my hair soft and just wonderful.

This is what I do

The closest I come to using straight is in my spritz but I use glycerin and not honey in that. My spritz is water, glycerin, and a touch of olive oil.

I do this with mediocre DTs. I rarely add anything to my cowashes.

I mixed honey, EVOO, and my suave coconut conditioner today. First I cowashed then I put the mixture in my hair and left it in while I washed myself, my face, and shaved so probably about 10-15 minutes. My hair was dry and crunchy this morning, but it has been saved! I have defined, soft, shiny ringlets right now :) I think my hair has been craving moisture lately... and probably protein too. Eek!

I never use olive oil, but I do use coconut oil, honey, a little argan and jojoba mixed with Jessicurl WDT, and sit under the steamer for 1 hour...simply amazing!
