Lecithin Leave-In?

So... I've read mixed reviews about this rather pricey Extenzz stuff. Since the main ingredient is lecithin, I thought, "Lecithin is cheap. Why not just make a conditioner with lecithin?".

I saw a recipe on the 4B message board by dimples12553 (Thank you, dimples!):
Looking for a REALLY good creamy leave in conditioner

I came across a couple more while Googling:

There's a really simple one on this page:

... and then there's this one:

Has anyone else experimented with lecithin? If so, please share your recipes and results!

Thank you!

I tried putting some in flaxseed gel, and it was a flop.

Have you had any success with yours?

I've only tried the simplest recipe first... bad idea. It didn't mix well and looked like barf in a bottle (only it smelled pretty good, because I put in a tiny bit of orange oil in it).

When I first applied it, some curls stayed almost straight(!?) and some shrunk up immediately. Finally, it all shrunk up as usual. It was incredibly shiny the next day, but it felt oily and "goopy", so I felt the need to shampoo (that's right... with sulfates!).

(After shampooing, I did a moisturizing deep conditioner, and my curls were nice and bouncy again.)

But I'm not giving up on the lecithin... I'll be trying one of the other recipes later to see what happens.
