Honey, Olive Oil, and OneC
A curly on a post I came across somewhere on nc.com said how much she liked using a DT of honey, olive oil, and OneC, but she didn't list amounts for each ingredient, so yesterday I tried out the following:
1T honey
1T olive oil
1T OneC
Pretty basic and easy to remember, plus it was just the right amount to cover all of my hair, and it had a nice consistency and smelled sweet (Thank you, honey). Best of all, it worked really well as a DT, so I'll definitely be using this mix again.

Rinse out conditioner:

1 Tbsp jojoba oil
2 Tbsp apricot kernel oil

1 Tbsp jojoba protein
1 Tbsp honey
1 Tbsp avocado oil

IAgirl's FSC:
1/4 cup Lustrasilk mix above

Kinkyflorida, Go back to CurlTalk Link, then to Newbies then it's in a "sticky" thread under that.

Protein Deep Conditioner:
2 levelled tablespoons of Real Mayonnaise
1 egg
Olive oil
Rosemary oil (homemade)
pinch of BofS (not using this again, though it didn't really damage my hair, just read that it was corrosive so I'm going to start avoiding it).
Directions:
- Get a bowl
- Mix everything apart from the egg in it till it looks like one thing and not 4 different things
- Add in the egg and mix it up really really well till again, the mixture looks as 1 and not 2 different things.

Everything I use is 100% natural. I make most of them myself because then I'm sure what's in it and I'm sure nothing's added, it's pure, it's natural.
Things I avoid: Mineral oil (codename: Baby oil), heat (I'm a total, no hair driers, no straighteners, no curling irons, no flat irons, no hot combs...nada), sodium chloride
Growing plan: At least 6 inches longer in a year.

Aloe Vera Hair Gel:
Fresh aloe vera (got mine straight from the plant)
1 teaspoon of Rosemary oil (homemade)
1 teaspoon of Canola oil
1 teaspoon of water
Directions:
- Scrape the gel out of the aloe vera leaf into a bowl.
- Whisk it up with a spoon or fork for quite some time.
- Add in the oils and water
- Whisk it up some more (for a longer period of time now).
- If you want to, pour it into a blender. Blend it till it's smooth or however you want it. (optional)
- Pour it into a clean and clear seal-able bowl/a bowl with a cover.
I always get some shea butter in my hair before I use the aloe vera gel. This is to make sure my hair doesn't get dry, frizzy or crunchy.
Oh! and yes, aloe vera is really, well, you'll see. When you place something in it then raise it out, a trail or line of aloe vera connects what you're holding and the aloe vera.
To use the aloe vera gel, just get it on your hands, rub it up if you want to (if you don't want a possible mess, don't) then get it into your hair. It may look soapy or gooey kinda, but don't worry, once it dries up or is absorbed or whatever, it'll not look like that anymore.
I have to say, I love my aloe vera hair gel.

I made a batch of FSG last week and added a little gold colored mica powder . I used citric acid as a preservative and a little neroli oil for that orangey smell. Its a bit thin, so it slips through my fingers,
I don't know if the gold mica actually got on my hair, but there are lots of sparkly spots on my floor.
The week before, I made FSG with some corn starch added. The thicker texture was easier to handle.

Sammy, do you know how much AVG you end up with after you scrape it out?

It depends on how big the aloe vera leaf is. I don't remember exactly how much I came up with, but once I make a new one, I'll tell you (I'm using exactly the same size of aloe vera I used last).

i made a nice nettle rinse: few handfuls of nettle, few handfuls of peppermints and a small splash of vinegar. i poured boiling water over the lot and just left it till it cooled. after my shower, i poured it over my hair and messaged it in my scalp. so shiny and soft after

My simple Shikakai cleanser/conditioner/rinse for great shine:
2T shikakai powder
2 c hot distilled water
Make tea, let cool and strain. This is enough to last me a week (thin shorter hair)
I may experiment with honey or glycerin

I made the All in One spray KurlyPrincess dug up here. Also in the Recipes section here. I decided to use 1/2 the oil since oil is in most of my products.
1 cup hot water
2 Tbsp. SheaM C&H milk
2 tsp. magnesium oil
1/2 Tbsp. hemp oil
1/3 cup Tresemme clean hold gel

I just got done making my weekly batch of FSG. My hair just LOVES this stuff! Also I found Marshmallow root today and I made up a batch to use tomorrow. Can't wait to see how it works! For tomorrow I plan on making a DT of coconut oil and honey.
Whew! After posting this - I realized I've got some great stuff to try out!

Hi curlycoilyme, I've made this before and I really like it. I also add a beaten egg for protein and natural cholesterol. It's fab that way!

Just made me an oatmeal face mask to try to combat my seborrheic dermatitis, its been really bad since its been getting cold, so I thought I might try this:
1/2 pack colloidal oatmeal
1 chamomile tea bag (steeped)
1/4 c. Filtered water (hot)
4 drops tea tree oil
4 drop cedarwood
2 drops eucalyptus oil
2 drops peppermint oil
Mix in bowl, until desired consistency, then apply to face. It feels very cleansing/purifying, leave on for 10-15 mins. Then rinse with warm water! Enjoy
