@missbanjo
How often do you use your Okra Mudd? How did that work for you?

I didn't like it at all. I think I used it a total of 3 maybe 4 times.

I mixed some oil for my face to follow my black soap. My jojoba oil is about 1/4 full and I heard that olive and coconut oils can be ideal for achieving clear skin.

So to the rest of the jojoba oil I added olive and coconut oils, and some vitamin E oil and a couple drops of tea tree EO...

Once again, I've mixed a conditioner by eyeballing everything. But this time I put the wet ingredients in the bowl first, then added the dry stuff until I achieved a consistency I liked.

So........

Sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, coconut oil, avj, acv, Ion prepoo treatment, orange oil, rosemary oil, peppermint oil, egg, bentonite clay, and amla powder.

Well here I go again with condish mixing......

I did this one ONLY bcuz I received some samples in the mail but it wasn't nearly enough for my whole head. I've been curious about the product line but not enough to actually buy the stuff. I cut back the amounts of my regular ingredients to just a few drops. And I did not do protein this week so no egg or yogurt.

So.......

0.34 oz L'Oreal EverCrème Nourishing Conditioner
0.34 oz L'Oreal EverCrème Deep Nourishing Conditioner
Sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, olive oil, coconut oil
Homemade black castor oil
Ion prepoo treatment (still tryin to use it up)
Allium sativum, allium cepa
Honey
Coconut milk
AVJ
Bentonite clay
Amla powder
EOs (tea tree, orange, peppermint, rosemary, sage)

I made a face cream. I melted Shea butter and whipped it. Added some vitamin E, lavender, jasmine, and (accidentally) geranium oil.

It's wonderful! Cleared up my acne and has cured my dry skin.

I use this at night and when I wake up my face looks so plump, vibrant, and refreshed. Hooked.

How long does it take to whip up shea butter? I tried it once (may have been in this thread) and I think I whipped for 10 minutes but when I went back to use it it was hard and barely melty when I tried to get some out of the jar. All I remember is it was shea mixed with probably mango or cocoa butter and an oil or two (maybe avocado or apricot kernel). I'd love to give it another go but I want a good recipe with directions! I'm good in the kitchen with food but, body/hair is always an experiment.

If it had cocoa butter in it, it will be much harder than just shea butter alone. Easy -peasy whipped shea butter:

3/4 cup shea butter
1/4 cup favorite oil (coconut, avocado, olive, soy, apricot kernel etc)

Place in bowl and use as a double boiler to melt or use microwave. Cool melted ingredients in the freezer for just a few min, until the edges start to get hard again around the rim of the bowl. Then start mixing with your mixer until it has doubled in size and is nice and fluffy.

The next day it will be a bit harder than when it was first whipped, but it will melt on contact with your skin.

Thanks Ceri! I really don't remember if I used cocoa butter but I may have. I wonder if I can get some good shea butter on the ground here.

If you can't get it on the ground, then NDA has some nice shea butters and other carrier oils to play around with

Butters from New Directions Aromatics!

As always with me, it's a condish.......Ok so this one came about cuz I tried the Shea Moisture Raw Shea Butter Deep Treatment Masque and was quite UNDERwhelmed. Can't let it go to waste even if it was on sale.

I used this one time....then the rest I dumped into a bowl and, as always without measuring, I added the following:

Amla powder
Coconut milk
AVJ
Sweet almond oil
EVOO
Coconut oil
Honey
Bentonite clay
EOs (neem, tea tree, rosemary, sage, orange, peppermint)

I added enough of the liquids to the mix that I could funnel the mixture into the empty Moisture Retention shampoo bottle (wasn't impressed with that one either LoL). Still thick and creamy tho.

I tried my hand at the Kimmaytube leave in 2day. Never tried it B4. I had no jojoba oil, but I'm not too concerned.

2 tbsp Nubian Heritage Grow & Strengthen Herbal Custard
2 tbsp AVJ
2 tsp coconut oil
2 tsp castor oil
....and some EOs
*one drop each (sage oil, rosemary oil, tea tree oil, & orange oil)

I made a hot oil treatment mixed with some dc and my hair turned out a bit softer than it was before. Am gonna try it again next week to check if the results are linked with the dc/oils or if its only concidence.

2 tbs EVOO
2 tbs EVCO
2 tbs avocado oil
2 tbs honey
2 tbs curls tea dc

Heat the oils before mixing it with the rest so the end product will still be warm. (some people heat up the honey too because they're fraid of it lightning their hair, but i dont mind)

I like to keep things simple on the first time i mix something so i mostly use the same amount of everything and if it doesnt work the way i want it to, i start playin around with the measurements next time.

I made a bootleg Qhemet olive honey hydrating balm (lol).

Olive oil and grapeseed oil half and half 4 oz in total and honey and glycerin about 2 oz in total with a pinch or two of guar gum to help it solidify.

I loved it, it treats me so well during deep conditioning sessions, I am afraid to use it as a sealer to go outside with because it is cold and dry out where I live.
