Default Grapeseed Oil - Anyone use?

I meant to buy grapefruit seed extract and instead bought grapeseed oil - that's what I get for not writing down what I was going to the healthfood store to get before leaving the house!

So has anyone used grapeseed oil in their homemade products? Put it in their FSG perhaps? I have been using coconut oil in my FSG but am thinking of trying some grapeseed oil in the next batch for kicks. The bottle was not expensive ($4.75ish and 40% off) and the label says it's great for soft skin. I imagine it would be great for soft hair too

Any advice/opinions?

I guess tomorrow I'm headed back to get the grapefruit seed extract!

I use grapeseed oil on my face. It's nice and light and doesn't clog my pores. It doesn't have a very long shelf life, so once you open it, keep it in the fridge.

It's good for a just hair oil, and some people use it when they flat iron their hair.

Ok, thanks. Thanks for the advice about putting it in the fridge. I was keeping it on a shelf, so I'll stick it in the fridge with the FSG. I put it in a batch about 2 weeks ago. It isn't as nice as coconut oil in FSG, but with coconut oil, if I don't put the exact right amount, and at the exact right temperature, the coconut oil resolidifies in the FSG and I get a film So at least grapeseed oil doesn't do that!

I like grapeseed oil on my fine hair because it feels light and "dry." I put it in my FSG, but only small amounts. I also use it in my conditioner, in small amounts. It's perfect on my hair, it softens the hold without making it feel heavy. On dry hair, it totally controls the "in the curls" frizz and halo frizz (in summer) without making my hair limp. Drier hair that loves coconut oil probably won't respond to it very much. I love to use it in a face cream/serum I make, but I have to use it half and half with an "oilier" feeling oil like apricot kernel or almond, or the cream does not spread well. Like I said - a "dry" feeling oil. Very good for the skin.
I agree - must refrigerate and protect from light.

I have only used grapeseed oil to seal my hair. It's heavier than jojoba but lighter than extra virgin olive oil. I can layer a lightweight or heavy moisturizer beneath it and it will still keep my hair soft for days.

Glad I read the tip about storage. Hadn't heard that it should be kept in the fridge.

I use grapeseed oil to sotc, smooth flyaways, makeup remover, add to fsg, to seal my hair and most recently right after a shower. I'll dry off gently then apply the oil all over, then gently blot off.
I'll also add some to my deep conditioner.
You can also cook with grapeseed oil if you're so inclined.

I use it to seal my hair and during my flat iron sessions.

I've been looking for grapefruit seed extract, too. Have you found any in stores? I don't really want to go online.
