Talking Olive Oil Treatment for Dry Scalp?

Hey Ladies! I had worked very hard on keeping my scalp nice and clean but cold weather came along and ruined it!
I have flakes all over and it's embarrassing and looks horrible! So, I want to do an olive oil treatment in my hair. I'm thinking of massaging some warm olive oil on my scalp and leaving it overnight. Do you suggest I leave it in overnight? Also, should my hair be clean or wet before I do it? I'm thinking of putting it in my dry, second day hair.

Hi, Gee,

I like olive oil a lot for my hair and scalp. I think what you're proposing can't hurt. I've heard of some people using a mixture of oil and brown sugar to exfoliate their scalps, but that's usually a pre-poo scrub.

When I use olive oil, it's usually before I wash and I may spray my hair with water to dampen, but not saturate, it. Since you're focusing on your scalp, I'm not sure what would be best; however, when we use lotions and oils on our skin and hair, it does seal in moisture if we apply lotions and oils when our skin and hair is wet. Our scalps are likely the same.

If you've tried it already, what were your results?
