Recipes for homemade hair gel?help!

Hello ladies
So I purchased fruit pectin by sure jell and I also purchased gelatine by Knox....I would like to make my own hair gel. I've done a lot of research via Google but I would love to know what you use to make your hair gel. Also not quite sure which one to use ( pectin or gelatin) does it matter? Also how long does it last?............sorry for all the questions

I just joined this forum so I could share this recipe for hair gel that I found online. I made it, I tried it, and IT WORKS! And after all the products I've purchased over the years...
Bring to a Boil 1 cup of water with 1 Tablespoon flax seeds, then let simmer for 20 min, stirring occasionally. Pour through tea strainer while it is still hot to strain out the seeds. Let cool and store in airtight container. Supposed to be good for a week without refrigeration. Flax seeds can be purchased in 1 lb. bags in larger grocery stores in the natural foods aisle.
I don't know if this recipe was ever listed on this forum before, but I can tell you it tames and adds shine and bounce to my fine curly hair, leaves no residue and isn't sticky. I work in about a tablespoonful into damp hair and let air dry. It has the consistence of egg white, and it has no detectible smell.
Can't wait to see how it works at the beach!
And of course I just bought moroccan oil curl creme which did NOTHING.

yeah, FSG is pretty common on the forum and most people really like it. My suggestion: you have to use a LOT of FSG, so don't be skimpy. You can add aloe vera gel to it, but I havent in the past and it's worked fine.

Also, you may want to try 2 Tbsp to 1 cup, not 1 Tbsp, or your gel may not get thick enough. Usually you can reuse the seeds for another batch of gel.
