Exclamation Has anyone tried olive oil and honey?

Yesterday I tried mixing a table spoon of olive oil with a table spoon of honey and heating it up for 20 sec and leaving it in my hair for about an hour and 15 minutes. After I rinsed it out after shampooing I felt like it didn't really do anything. In fact, I felt like my hair was drier and had a harder texture... did anyone else ever try this is a deep conditioning? What kind of results did you get? I'm not sure if this is just a one-time thing and I should continue trying it or if an ingredient didn't work with my hair (does honey contain protein?). Maybe it was the product I put in after showering? Anyone tried this recipe before?

Honey contains protein but not much. My hair doesn't really like olive oil unless my hair is drenched in water. I made a honey spritz to use as a holding spray in the morning & rinse it out at night. When I rinse it out it's so soft ! Did you make sure your hair was wet enough first?

I love olive oil & honey. I use it as a pre-wash on the weekends. I typically use 1/4 C EVOO & 1 Tbsp Raw Honey. I heat it for 10-15 seconds then I add it to dry hair. I use a disposable cap and heat under a blow dryer for 15 mins. I leave it on my hair for 1-2 hours before I low poo. It does weigh my thin, fine hair down for a day or so afterwards, but it keeps it soft for at least a week so it's worth it.

@chicabelleza

I put it on totally dry hair. Then I put a shower cap on and heated a wet towel and put that over my head. I guess I should try wetting my hair first next week?

I think you should try it. If you don't want to drench it, then maybe dampen it a bit. Idk about honey but I know olive oil is best as a sealant. I tried to deep condition with it on dry hair & it just sat there & when I rinsed my hair was dryer than when I started. :/
